Fate has placed Angel Hernandez behind the plate, and (and this is according to the announcers) his ballbag is soaking wet.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 21, 2021 Author Posted June 21, 2021 And the tarp finally comes out.Orioles down 7-0, and ... they'll still be here after midnight.Baltimore radiocast switching to Game 3 of the 1983 World Series. This Veterans Stadium crowd sounds raunchy and rabid.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 He's a Twenty-first Century RayHe's a ...Top SS prospect Wander Franco -- #1 across the board in both pre-2020 & pre-2021 -- will make his ML debut tonight for Tampa Bay against Boston. So what's so significant? DOB: 3/1/2001, making him the first ML'er to be born in the 21st century. Someone (probably Kurkjian) has already gone back and figured out who the initial 20th century guy was.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 22, 2021 Author Posted June 22, 2021 The no-hitter game picked up after the rain, but the O's managed a single and homer off the new Houston pitcher Brandon Bielak, who was just great in Blossom.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 22, 2021 Author Posted June 22, 2021 Leading candidate for the first 21st Century Met are Ronny Mauricio and Francisco Alvarez, currently running in a dead heat in Brooklyn.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 Nats and Phils are trading leads and Grand Slams this afternoon in a game which might still be going by the time ours ends tonight. 11- 9 Nats, and still just in the middle of 6th (and approaching 3 hours) in the city of brotherly bad pitching. Slams by McCutcheon (PH) for the phightins & Bell for the Nats
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 WSH has a 2019 vibe to this hater. They rolled over PIT, won 3 of 4 against a weakened Mets team, got "Baby Shark" back, got angry along with Scherzer, and now beat PHI two in a row including today's back-and-forth game. And now they play MIA. I always worry about WSH but now I'm hella worried.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 Looked at from the other side, the Phils scored 12 runs on 15 hits and overcame separate four and five run defecits .(apparently someone can hit Erik Fedde even if we can't) ... and still managed to lose the game. And we'll see them starting Friday.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 23, 2021 Author Posted June 23, 2021 It's a small sample size that may mean nothing, but it seems like the league put the kibosh on pitchers using the sticky goo and the offenses have responded right away.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 Giants-Angels were 1-1 at the end of 9SF won 9-3 in 12
