I started digging at this when I started to suspect that the number of players out of Venezuela was approaching, or even exceeding, those from The Dominican Republic. But they're not really there yet. While the Venezuelans draw close to even in the lowest levels, not as many have yet graduated into the higher levels.



I wonder nonetheless if the Mets are scouting there more aggressively, relative to the Dominican, compared to other teams. It makes some sense, as both the Chavez and Alfonzo families seem to be permanent parts of the organization.



I'm kind of surprised to see so few Puerto Ricans also.



Also, they surprisingly don't have a single Canadian. GOOD!
