RIP Tim Hamilton, Mets Pre-Jay PR Guy

Howie Rose mentioned, while helping Pete McCarthy fill time during the rain delay Wednesday, that Tim Hamilton died on the same day Jay Horwitz got his new role. Howie described Hamilton as having Jay's job before Jay (though the PR director of record prior to Jay was Arthur Richman). Here's the AP account:

Horwitz’s first assistant with the Mets, Tim Hamilton, died Wednesday. Hamilton predated Horwitz with New York, and Horwitz told The Associated Press that Hamilton was a “great guy” who helped acclimate him to life at Shea Stadium. Hamilton’s ex-wife, Lorraine Hamilton, is still the Mets’ executive director of broadcasting and events.
