G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Deserves a proper if belated "Memories" sendoff.Had a little more left than I suspected, if not a lot. Helped sweep the Nationals a series when that rivalry was still viable. Dug balls out of the dirt with the best of them. Class act.Wasn't designed to last at this stage of his accomplished career.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 Dignified and prideful, gave us the one last squeeze of his career toothpaste then was sorta an old man with bad breath.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 Felt like a worthwhile flier to give Smith some time to develop properly. See if the one off year was indeed injury related or sign of full decline.Had some good metrics the first month or so, with some bad luck, and then they faded. So perhaps still has/had some talent but couldn't handle the daily rigors. Maybe should've started as a bench guy but Smith got hurt anyway. Seemed a nice and appreciative guy of his chances.
