Giants get Evan Longoria from Rays for Christian Arroyo, Denard Span, Stephen Woods and Matt Krook.

Longoria is a bit older than I would have guessed (just turned 32) and not quite the superstar he looked like he was headed for earlier in his career as his mid-800s OPS rates have dropped to more like mid-700s over three of the most recent four seasons - so this is not quite the blockbuster news it would have been a couple years ago.



In other off-season non-NYM news, Orioles closer Zach Britton rupture his achilles tendon during an off-season workout. Four months minimum so it'll kill the beginning of his 2018 season anyway.
