Suffolk King Hot Sauce's Achievements

  1. I wasn't a fan of Howie's when he first got started. I thought of him like the Lloyd Lindsay Young of sportscasting. When he graduated from doing the pre- and post-game shows on WHN / WFAN into the Sports Channel broadcast booth, he came into his own as a commentator. And since he's taken over the radio booth, I just love the way he calls a game, reminisces about Mets teams of the past, and fills in slower moments with stuff about the Honeymooners, the Three Stooges, Mott the Hoople, etc. His retirement will be like losing an enduring summertime friend. I am not a fan of Keith Raad or Pat McCarthy and think that Audacity needs to do a much better job in finding radio announcers for the team. My prejudice is probably based on ageism because I find listening to those two, especially McCarthy, like listening to a college baseball game on the college's 10-watt FM station. They are not the caliber of broadcaster I expect from a New York sports team.
