  1. It's not like he's taping bat ears to his cap. But I might. I'm working on it for his nickname card. I love it. A huge fan of Batman all my life and then a new Mets phenom pitcher becomes The Dark Knight? I couldn't have written it up any better. Embarrassed? Not in the least. The bat labels? Friggin' awesome and soon everyone will have their own little custom labels. This is hideous. I want one. Ceetar wrote: "Early in yesterday's game, the Dark Knight threw a pitch & Gary said "And Harvey dents the outside corner." Had to be on purpose. #Mets" I ? Gary Cohen.
  2. That's great^ lol. @ 3:48 Timmy Mac: "And I guarantee ya the Cardinals, when they face Dwight Gooden, they do not see balls that look that big."
  3. Oh, now I get it. Washington knew that Blevins had brittle bones!
  4. Edgy MD wrote: I feel confident we'll see more of d'Arnaud. He's hitting a lot better than Wally Pipp was. And Pipp was 32. And as hopeful as one may be about Plawecki, there's little reason suspect he's a catching Lou Gehrig. I've been all high on "The Lumberjack" so I was saving my praise of d'Arnaud for a future time. I was very happy with his performance and consider him a big part of this team now. Even if Plawecki excels, I expect 'lil d' to return.
  5. Edgy MD wrote: Kudos to Sandy for seemingly needing one left-hander and going out and getting two. Sandy's looking pretty smart to me. Because of his moves, or lack of moves, we were prepared for stuff like this. But I'm thinking we were prepared for over the long season. W/Wright and these two down today, all of this in around a week...it's really kind of unbelievable. How prepared are we for the rest of the season? I think it's got to be Monell gets the call. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Word is out that it'll be Hansel Robles and Kevin Plawecki. I guess that make Giltorres the lefty killer. Mmm. Thought they'd go with the hot hand. Hope Plawecki is up for this. *Cues Nilsson's JUMP INTO THE FIRE.
  6. So Harvey was feeling sick before the game? I didn't hear that until the postgame w/TC.
  7. d'Arnaud: .3 Cuddyer: .3 Campbell: 1 Lagares: .4 Flores: 3 deGrom: 4 Carlyle: .5 ATorres: .5
  8. Granderson: .5 d'Arnaud: .5 Murphy: .5 Lagares: .7 Nieuwenhuis: .5 Tejada: 2.5 Harvey: 3.5 Blevins: .2 ATorres: .1 Carlyle: .5 Familia: .5
  9. Gary's right. We won 8 in a row, set historical Met records, but this is a horrible day.
  10. Tying run on 2nd. One out. Nice play Soupy. 2 out. Stanton.
  11. Mets Guy in Michigan wrote: Think we'll see Kevin Plawecki? I really feel we should. I disagree with Ronnie about him being ready. He's needed. I'll bet they go with Monell though.
  12. Insurance would be nice but for some reason I don't expect it. Travis: broken hand.
  13. Whew. Carlyle Ks EtchAsketch. Inning over. 7-6 Mets.
  14. Another sac fly. 7-6 NY, 2 out. 8th inning.
  15. Sac fly makes it 7-5 Mets. 1 out.
  16. We're losing control of this one. Should be 7-5 but they are afraid of Laggy's arm. bases loaded, no out for Miami. 7-4 Mets
  17. These fuckin' Fish. Hit em all!
  18. Gwreck wrote: Broken arm being reported for Blevins. ugh, double shit.
  19. SHIT! If that's broke we hit 3 of them this time. Damn.
  20. Blevins in for Harvey, 7-3 Mets. And, oh shit, Blevins hit in the left arm with a hard hit line drivw. Carlyle gets deeked, had to return to pen.
  21. Ichiro looks like a toy at the plate. He looks like an Ichiro doll.
  22. If we are gonna be chincy with Harvey's innings pitched, shouldn't that be it for him? lol, Harvey singles. Nice rip.
  23. 6 and out for Harvey? Only has 72 pitches.
  24. Whoa. U see how behind Yelich was on that pitch? Clearly already in d's glove. That's gotta be uber embarrassing.
