  1. Wishing him a complete recovery and sending good vibes his way. I read a lot of stuff about Jackson working on the card blog. I had known, or heard his name, as a kid, but didn't really know his contributions to baseball or much else about the man (he was just one of those original Mets to me for many years). What I learned gave me a new found respect for him. What a great baseball person, and much better pitcher than his years with the Mets portray. Get well soon Mr. Jackson. I don't think I've ever known a Mets organization that you weren't a part of.

I think the extended look (since Wrights not back due to back) at Herrera is a very good thing. I'll have more to say as time goes by.
  3. Here's a wallpaper for Iphones. Designed only to be used on days Harvey pitches, as a reminder. Ironically, I would have posted this earlier, but I forgot it was Harvey Day (I don't have an Iphone).
  4. Lagares: 1 Cuddyer: .3 Gee: 2.8 Torres: 2.2 Goeddel: .3 Gilmartin: .2 Familia: .2
  5. I don't know what's more astonishing. That the '66 Batman played Shea or that he had nipples. I wasn't aware of either. Can't make out the year or the price. 1966/buck.fiddy?
  6. During the streak we won a few we shouldn't have. Even after, but the last few we should have won. You get pitching like we have, you gotta win these games or in the long run you will not be a winning team.
  7. 1-0 Them, New York up in the 9th. It's now or never.
  8. Well, that was more of a swing than Duda's. Still-rippoff-ump sucks.
  9. 1-0 Wash., Mets on 2nd & 3rd, 2 out. Cuddyer. It's now or never (or the 9th).
  10. That was no swing! Comeon!
  11. Maybeery, lead off walk in the 8th.
  12. cheeeeeze. That was ball 4 Mr.T. Was a wicked pitch tho
  13. Harper makes the catch, yet he still sucks. That's the wonder of baseball. Plawecki doubles, one out in the 7th. It's now or never....(or the 8th or the 9th) That one the Nats put up looks awfully lonely.

  15. I thought the 1st walk of the 6th was a big red flag.
  16. Beautiful day for some hitting. I mean, if you want to do that.

  18. A split would make my Sunday. You're big Gee!

  22. Frayed Knot wrote: So the fact that we got out-hit like 12-2 since the end of the 3rd inning means this could easily have been a loss anyway. But it would be tough to find a game where a 4th inning grounder was a bigger turning point. I hope I'm not pointing to that grounder a month or two from now. Horrible deflating loss. deGrom was cruising.
  23. Frayed Knot wrote: So Leathersich's role on this team is apparently to give up screaming liners to lefty hitters. I'd be happy if he just knew how many outs there were.
  24. Leatherface fails. 8-2 Wash.
