  3. meehh, that was kinda like an old man catch but very nice play by old man Grandy, whose playing like young man Grandy, but he made an old man catch there.

I had a feeling that was factually incorrect, but I never watched that show so I wasn't sure of the actual quote. I thought it was funny and had a laugh. Don't let Edge derail your comedy career. d'Kong76 wrote: We need the Mets to channel some Scrappy Doo! Scooby fan here but when Scrappy entered, I exited. Some Jerk just hit a 1 out double.

  7. So am I correct in thinking that Joel Sherman threw the rock in the pond and the rest was just ripples that extended to 30,000 feet.
  8. Even Gomez and his team mates tweeted about it on the plane.
  9. i remember when Wilmer was fake traded.... lmao OE: One of the biggest laughs I ever had here, tyvm. U can delete this thread if u wish and seriously sorry. If Wilmer sucks eggs I'll think I jinxed him. I mean sucks worse eggs.

Yes, they don't HAVE to take him out until the deal is official, but it's simply smart business to do so. The only role social media plays here is that more people know about it quicker than they would have otherwise. I agree. I'm old school like that too. I'd be more concerned about trying to not allow this to be a public thing. In the old days the manager just wouldn't tell the player til the game was over and the fans wouldn;t know until it wwas written up by someone--it has been portrayed as a dun deal for hours now, and that's on the media. Oh, social media does effect things. wow. this is fuckin crazy.
  11. I apologize for taking the initiative.
  12. Eh, I had a little problem with his feet, as you might recall. Good kid tho. I wish him well.
  13. Hamels to Texas.
  14. Duda: 6 Campbell: 1 ATorres: 2
  15. Thats 3! Again, @home. What a wacky night. 18. This might be the new norm in such things.
  19. If I was Flores I wouldn't cry. But I'd be doing cartwheels and sliding into bags out there during a pitch.
  20. Fman99 wrote: He's getting a lot of camera time, at least. All puffy eyed. It's like Fgirl and her little crying friends when they're all over here playing, such girls. I told her, send them all away and have them come back when they are eighteenish. lol
  21. Frayed Knot wrote: If this trade is as far along as it seems the fact that he's still in there is weird - even if it's not exactly official yet. Very weird. Like Gary said, social media has changed things that we dont even think about until they happen.
  22. Edgy MD wrote: Oh, he looked different, all right. Maybe preoccupied. But his approach to hitting was the same. I mean get pumped like players do 1st game with a new team, or aganist their old team...get pumped and plant one. He didn't look like he was interested in doing that. This is really strange, and now seeing him in tears, kinda sad. I feel shitty now. Ha.
  23. If he is aware of whats going on, and I assume he is, I would have thought that would pump him up at the plate. But he looked no different.
  24. Wow, Flores will bat. And hes getting a big hand. Wow.

He's been struck out a couple times tonight and yesterday on bastard pitches (and which may or may not have been strikes) but he's usually looked good in doing so -- and, no, that's not a contradiction in terms. They weren't in my opinion. I like how he yelled at the ump while walking away, not turning his head back to him. This kid is a mature intelligent player. Whether they were strikes or not is pretty much irrelevant (not to the AB but to the larger question). Point is that back-door breaking stuff that nips (or doesn't) the outside corner are virtually impossible to hit so it's not like he's looking overmatched by ML hurlers. An extra inch or two outside and it's Ball 4. An inch or two closer to him and I think he'd be all over it. Like Keith said, too close to take. Personally I'm glad the kid don't fish. Those at-bats will balance out. GELBS ALERT
