Revenue. and if they make it up the 23rd Ike would still miss it. There's certainly a fair shot that neither team needs it, but the worst case would be playing it 9/29 after the season.

Besides the dates you have, each team is off on August 8. I skipped 8/8 because it's mid homestand for the Mets. yeah, day game 5/22. my printout is a little old and I kinda assumed. neither Sunday Subway Series Stint is on eSpn. That'd probably be the day then, get it over with if they can. I dunno about the consecutive games though, that might be rough. (21 in 20 days for the Rockies starting tomorrow if they played that day)

  6. mutual off day on May 23rd I believe, Middle of a roadtrip for the Mets, where they fly from NY to Chicago. Probably not a horrible day, although the Sunday game is 8pm right? so it'd be a rough couple of days sleepwise. Rockies fly home from Milwaukee on the 22nd, but they've got a Tuesday double header with the Diamondbacks. Might relish the off day? 8/25 is the best choice. 9/8 Mets enroute home from Miami which seems out of the way. Those are the only three options besides them just conceding to save the trouble.
  7. I'm sure all the (Yankees) fans that were convinced Reyes and Beltran (And A-Roid) used HGH because of Galea are saying the same about this guy right? It feels like cheating somehow, but maybe it really is the way medicine and stem cells and the like are going?
  8. smg58 wrote: I don't like F-Mart being here to sit on the bench. Evans would have made more sense. If he plays poorly he'd clear waivers again, and if he doesn't play poorly Scott Hairston would clear waivers. His plane isn't even due to land until 1, there's weather issues that could delay it and the game. Hopefully he's the 'regular' starter. or something. I'm just depressed. and now Ike's not even going to be back in 13 days? *sigh*
  9. bench is strong though. Martinez! Wright!
  10. More interesting is Schwinden. Pitching well and perhaps not only has earned a steady spot at Buffalo, he could be 6th or 7th on the Major League Depth chart? Also, DePodesta mentioned "at least 100 IP above A" as a prerequisite before considering promotion. Both Schwinden and Cohoon have met this.
  11. I meant using Harris as an infielder. he hasn't been getting many OF starts thanks to Pridie being okay. So is Fernando really coming up to be primary Lefty off the bench or is he going to play CF? or not at all and this is a bogus rumor/Ike will be okay?
  12. Edgy DC wrote: I suppose they could call up an outfielder and treat Harris as a backup infielder. Harris absolutely sucks. Do we trust Turner as the everyday second baseman? I might be okay with it..but I'm definitely not okay with lots of Hu/Harris starts.
  13. Here's a random shot of him on some back field in spring training.
  14. batmagadanleadoff wrote: Phillies v. Marlins. Who are you rooting for? Why? That's an easy one. the Marlins. The Marlins are irrelevant. Every game the Phillies lose makes the Mets job easier.
  15. TransMonk wrote: Big Pelf is 3-1 with a 3.16 ERA in his last 4 starts which is a great sign following the debacle that was his first 4 starts of the season. He's got a feel for the sinker again, mostly (the 3 HR was not real nice). Marlins at home and Yankees in the little league field the next two.
  16. TransMonk wrote: If it's my call, I give Evans a shot. But it's not my call. Might be Duda just because it's been Duda. I'd go Evans. Wouldn't want to burn the option for Tejada. But it's looking like Ike thinks he can play. and he did stay in that inning so it's not horrible at least.
  17. your league leader in extra base hits.
  18. Edgy DC wrote: MY WHOLE LIFE IS YOUR DATA! I sense two bingos that say you're wrong.
  19. I'm thinking it's more cold aprils and early season before we're all cultural malaise. gonna need more data.
  20. 11:30. 2-2 count.
  21. seawolf17 wrote: I would like to again state for the record that I will be despondent if Reyes or Wright is a productive major leaguer wearing a uniform other than a Mets one. You're not the only one. I'd say 99%, if not more, Mets fans know Reyes is great and don't know a single prospect that hasn't been talked about by Gary. There are millions and millions of bandwagon new york fans, and no better way to push them to the Bronx, $35 parking and all, than to trade Reyes.
  22. 1-877-CARS4KIDS back and relentless. But how about that Chrysler minivan commercial: "Or should I say... Maureen?" Did they really put so much behind an advertising campaign trying to reach soccer moms between innings of a baseball game? Or are they trying to get guys to buy the car in order to sex up their supposedly frumpy wives? I can't listen to those commercials, especially when he talks about trunk space or storage, without picturing him stowing garbage bags full of dismembered body parts there. I've noticed a lot of OLD commercials lately. on SNY, that heating and air tech guy "Office job not for you?" and on the radio, the select quote insurance guy "I just called Select quote insurance term life agent, JOEL CLARK." "I just got a client, who's 45 and smokes..." Just got him huh? You taped that like 10 years ago!
  23. It's kinda funny. Twitter is great, it's really enhanced my following baseball and such. But the actual athletes, the reason I'm following sports and on Twitter to begin with, don't really add much. Yeah, great, Santana's almost done with his workout. whoopie. Thinking about it further..Athletes just don't have much to add. They give me what I want (or promptly get thrown out) on the field, I don't need to talk to them about their movie preferences. Extrapolating further, I don't really need to hear former athletes telling me how baseball is played. People think they know more because they played the game, but as analysts, they're the same as everyone else. maybe worse. (That's a moneyball concept actually)
  24. batmagadanleadoff wrote: Ceetar wrote: There's still quite a bit of baseball left before even the mid-July "geeze, we're out of it aren't we?" questions, and that .9% number is an absolute joke. The bigger joke is the one where the Mets clinch 1st place on September 25. There's a better chance of that then if you played this season out from here 100 times that the Mets would fail 99 of them.
  25. Gwreck wrote: Twitter has a block function. If you don't like what people are saying, you block them so they don't show up. Simple. Why Josh didn't figure this out, I don't know. I know this and I'm not even a twitter user. I'm sure he figured it out, but it sounds like he just wasn't getting anything useful out of it.
