I have to say, the first two are easy for me, (13 and 5) but I don't have any idea of the answer to the third question. Timo Perez answered "Todd Zeile." so did one of the callers.

You will not miss a thing, either, apart from agita... I promise you. Oh, i pretty much have. I only listen in the car. it's a 20 minutes commute to and from work, and around lunchtime. The thing is, I feel like I get the gist of it most days, even with that minimal amount of listening time. I can turn on Michael Kay two times a week and somehow hear the same conversations and arguments. Relatedly, Francesa was doing his ticket giveaway thing today where he asks simple questions of callers and the one with the most right gets the tickets. Simple stuff "What number did Edgardo Alfonzo wear?" "How many games did WS 2000 go?" "Who hit the first WS home run in 2000? It took 11 callers before anyone got the minimum three questions right to qualify. (I can forgive them, goofing up what Number Bobby Valentine wore once cost me $130, but goofing multiple simple questions? it was hilarious.)
  3. I don't even know who Jalen Rose is, and I'm unsure why ESPN (radio and otherwise) insists on touting it's other hosts/analysts as "HUGE GUESTS" when they do cameos on other shows. Do I really need to hear Steven A Smith on every freaking show all day long? I'm pretty sure they could fire everyone and just play canned intros from one host introducing another host who repeats what he said on his own show days ago. Then they'll have that host go on another show to repeat the opinion from the first host. And we wonder why they can get 6 weeks of 'content' from one sentence from a Tiger Woods or a Bret Favre?

  5. he actually is getting some hard hit outs lately. I've seen two balls hit 380+ feet in the last couple of days. I'm hoping that's a good sign.
  6. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: I'm about out of patience with Bay's suck. I don't know if the Mets have ever gotten a worse deal. I've given him through the Yankees series. he'll top 100 AB, hit in a crazy easy to hit in park, etc.
  7. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: One of the writers twatted that Tejada was starting at 2B today. lineup's out if someone wants to make an IGT. Turner at third, Tejada at second batting 8th.
  8. Michael Kay managed to blame both Omar and Joe Torre for the contract the other day.
  9. seawolf17 wrote: So glad I went all the way in and sat in the rain for this. A few thoughts: * So many seemingly ill-advised decisions by Collins last night: Pinch-hitting Hu (yes, Harris sucks, but Hu is worse -- screw the L/R matchup), taking O'Connor (who was dealing) out, bunting Bay (HE'S YOUR EFFING CLEANUP HITTER), etc. * If Wright wasn't available last night, then you needed someone there. You can't play short a roster spot. Looks like Bing and Buffalo were both far out of town last night (New Hampshire and Indianapolis, respectively), but still. And if Wright's there, shouldn't you hit him for Harris in the 9th? Or at least put him in the on-deck circle just for gamesmanship? Maybe? * Huge section (20-25 guys) of dickhead Marlins fans started getting noisy and obnoxious in the left field corner last night. Got kicked out of the stadium in the middle of the ninth. Argh. We should probably be better about the "Going to the game thread"
  10. seawolf17 wrote: I think it's a little of both, and I wonder about that, especially in crucial situations like last night. I don't know nothing from nothing, but does Igarashi understand enough English when Warthen comes out there to say "THIS IS THE FUCKING PITCHER JUST THROW SOME FUCKING STRIKES AND CUT IT WITH THE NIBBLY SHIT"? I don't know. Actually Collins went out there and told Iggy the guy could hit. boggling.

  12. metirish wrote: I've no problem with the fool that pays $12.60 for a beer but don't like the all too common practice of taking the "gratuity" from them. The taking of tips of course is rampant problem in City eateries. Better beer at Citi and it's only $8, even in the Delta Sky 360 club. Although I then tipped the bartender so really $9.
  13. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Maybe most of the best Asian players stay in Asia, and those who come to America are more likely to be hapless? People talk about all the glamor of the big leagues versus the minors and riding buses and whatnot. Must be even worse when you're not even the one playing the baseball. Poor interpreter.
  14. Edgy DC wrote: Hard not to like all three of these moves. Leaves them thin on the infield for a bit (Harris is the backup shorstop!), but I bet the on-notice thing is clear for them all --- Harris, Hairston, Evans, and Fartinez. Produce and survive. Really seems like they mean to be running a ballclub. Dark day at The Asian Times, though. I'm not finding it hard to dislike Wright for Evans actually. Sandy works fast, I wasn't even home yet and Iggy and Hu were already in Buffalo.
  15. get to the park at 5, don't leave until after midnight and I don't even get a win out of it? ugh.. I did get a couple of fried shrimp, a piece of pizza, a fried chicken sandwich, half a keith's burger, half a pastrami sandwich, a breaded hotdog bite and an eggplant sandwich though.
  16. I'm not sure I can think of an instance recently where Omar did something stupid at the trading deadline by 'pretending' they were in contention?
  17. Comment From Ceetar Ceetar: ] What pitchers do you think will be available for Sandy Alderson to bring in mid-season? Monday May 16, 2011 12:04 Ceetar 12:05 Andy McCullough: I would be shocked if the Mets were buyers. They do not have a strong farm system, the sort of resources necessary to bring in top-line pitchers. Reyes/Beltran/K-Rod will not fetch major-league pitchers. That's not how it works. It's a given the Mets will trade Reyes/etc: check Farm system sucks: check Mets won't be buyers: check
  18. Don't I recall Jeter being pissed earlier in the season about getting a day off and not knowing about it before reading it on the lineup card?
  19. This is going to be one of those games tonight with like 4 people (including me) in the stands because of the rain isn't it?

  22. What do they say? just keep winning series. 3-1 gets them to .500 for the weekend series against the Yankees. (and 1-4 gets the Yankees to 500)
  23. TheOldMole wrote: Yeah, because the MFYs will only be sending 8 men to the plate, so no one has to bat 9th. They're certainly making a case for NL ball being the way to go. It'll definitely be longer than 3:30, especially as it's on ESPN. Freddy Garcia? sounds like dinner for the Red Sox.
