  1. I'm just rootin' and occasionally tootin'.
  2. https://www.milb.com/gameday/mets-vs-tides/2023/05/21/723154#game_state=final,lock_state=final,game_tab=box,game=723154Eight shutout innings today from David Peterson. Two hits, three walks, and nine strikeouts on just 95 pitches.
  3. Biggest plate appearance of the game coming.
  4. I need to start a thread on awful Twitter takes ,this was right after Verlander gave up the HR https://twitter.com/MetsGiveMeAgita/status/1660424680920973313 That's ... something.
  5. No way this game ends at 1-0.
  6. Ain't no wasted efforts in beisbol.
  7. Ali, Duaner, Rey, and Yolmer are delighted to welcome Gary to Team Dirty Sanchez.
  8. YOUR over-.500 Metss try to extend their winning streak, sweep a good opponent, and hopefully win by more than one. Not that I'm complaining. This game also features yesterday's much-anticipated-but-aborted Justin/Bieber matchup.
  9. When TBD becomes Max Scherzer, well, it's hard to ask for much more than that.
  10. Saturday night turns into Sunday afternoon as the Guardians and Mets make a second attempt at Game Two of their interleague series. Rookie Tanner Bibee takes the hill for the visitors while the homeboys counter with T.B. Dee. Say what you will about being undecided about a pitcher on a weekend afternoon, but as it's the 18th anniversary of Dae-Sung Koo's unlikely trip around the bases, I'm going to go ahead and embrace the mystery. 11. I prepared a big Mets kwiz, confirmed my data, and laid it out, but I would be stepping away from my screen too frequently today to be able to properly score it, what with the comings, not to mention the goings. Sunday, too, for that matter, so prepare yourselves for a big ol' kwiz on Monday starting some time shortly after breakfast. The subject is power. 12. Are you a teenage girl? Are you a Canadian? Are you a Canadian teenage girl? Well, it's a big night for you out at the ballpark as Justin takes on Bieber. It's the matchup psychologists always knew would happen! Suddenly, we are in the era of one-run victories. One run victories of the come-from-behind variety. The rookies have made the lineup longer and the Mets look to turn a trend into a thing. Verlander will be looking for his 246th career victory, which would tie him with fin-de-siècle legends Iron Joe McGinnity and Amos "The Hoosier Thunderbolt" Rusie. 13. Joey Lucchesi threw six innings of four-hit shutout ball, walking none and fanning seven, as the Syracuse Mets https://www.milb.com/gameday/mets-vs-tides/2023/05/19/723157#game_state=final,lock_state=final,game_tab=box,game=723157eked out a 1–0 win over the first-place Norfolk Tides. Ronny Mauricio garnered up three more hits, while Lorenzo Cedrola stole his 13th base, but also got caught for the first time. Mauricio also scored the games only run, driven in by one of two Jaylin Davis doubles. Mauricio's .356 batting average is third in the International League, behind Simon Muziotti of Lehigh Valley (.362) and Chuckie Robinson of Louisville (.358).
  14. Special thanks have to go to Cleveland leftfielder Steven Kwan for airmailing that throw that put Alvarez in scoring position. Let's keep running on that guy.
  15. "Francsico, you are undefeated in the Gary Sanchez era. What has he meant to this team?"
  16. =metirish post_id=126045 time=1684549352 user_id=72] Don't get hurt climbing over the dugout railing Pete
  17. I was wrong. The Friday Night black jerseys are getting it done.
  18. Thunderstruck!!!
  19. That's the way to send Clase back to Class A!!
  20. Vogey shouldn't have taken that pitch to let Escobar steal.
  21. Maybe Nimmo gets to be the hero after all.
  22. Well, now we're making it hard again.
  23. Two hands, Brett Baty. You're scaring me.
  24. Nope, we need to win before his turn comes around.
