  1. You don't have to choose between a delay and playing through the rain. Forfeits are a third option. My wife just checked the score and asked if they are laying down on the field.
  2. The Mets need to get Keith a driver.
  3. Baseball can surprise you. The Braves having a season for the ages come in to play a Mets team plugged up with AAA players and ... sometimes baseball doesn't manage to surprise you at all.
  4. Ronnie is gonna eat his whip after this half inning, and despite Gary's concern, I'm thinking that melting won't be a problem.
  5. Denyi Reyes deserves a minor hand for that effort. The tough part for him is that he's been pitching with something like this outfield alignment for Syracuse.
  6. Got a hit now. The post-game highlight film won't be blank.

  9. Keith, George Foster did most of the batting behind you before Carter showed up.
  10. If Vogie danced away from that pitch that hit him, maybe that ball rattles around and the Mets score a goofy run. Instead we make an early move toward matching yesterday's LoB numbers.
  11. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Anyone but Stewart could have caught that Judging from the last few days, I wouldn't have had a whole lot of confidence in Abrhaham Almonte or Rafael Ortega either.
  12. McNeil, Alonso, Narvaez, and Vogue remain from Opening Day.
  13. Reyes was perhaps the hottest pitcher with Syracuse, coming off a seven-inning/one-run performance against Worcester. He pitches to contact — low hit numbers, but low strikeout numbers. He goes deep into games because of this, but tends to give up that one three-run homer that undermines his effort, so it's better to get him out one batter early than one batter late, but in a double-header, that may not be workable.
  14. Cinematic needledrops tend to make me suspicious. Which isn't to say that a few of them haven't broken through to me.
  15. Shame on me, but I had no idea either. I'm guessing he's not IL bound, but I'm curious about the lack of Guillorme news.

  17. Almonte did not look like he has any familiarity with batting righthanded.
  18. Arauz is the tying run. And ... we're pinch-hitting for Alonso. Mercy.
  19. After stranding those four guys, Álvarez finds his stroke here in the ninth.
  20. The thing is, they probably should have more walks than they even have.
  21. Don't let Vogelbach bat against the lefty. He's done bad enough against Morton.
  22. The GiDP is definitely a questionable offensive strategy. I know that batting sluggers second is supposed to be a scientifically proven approach, but it's just been Double Play City for the Mets.
  23. =ashie62 post_id=134612 time=1691801935 user_id=90] Yes, he wants to be traded
