1. Bader likes to chase upstairs against lefties.
2. I don't think that fumble by Lindor should count as a catch.
3. The forum misses Zvon's KABOOM! graphix.
4. Yes, he should. Álvarez is doing a lot of nimble baserunning this inning.
5. Glad to see Cruz out there on defense. He may want to consider the NBA. Basketball contact is hard, but it's mostly above the waist.
6. https://austinmysterywriters.files.wordpress.com/2016/02/abbott-and-costello-invented-the-comedy-routine-whos-on-first.jpg> I'm saying, what's the name of the guy playing third?! Short!! I don't care about short!! Then why'd you ask?!
7. By the way, 60 years ago to the day, The Mets opened a new ballpark called Gabba Gabba Shea Stadium, hosting the very same Pittsburgh Pirates. The Buccos emerged victorious with the help of future Mets Bob Friend and Donn Clendenon, along with Ducky Schofield, who was at the time raising a two-year-old future Met. Yesterday's ballpark guest Jack Fisher held things close, but a ninth-inning run off of Ed Bauta was the difference. May retribution, sleeping as it has been for lo these six decades, now awaken and be ours. OURS!! [FIMG=800]http://leaptoad.com/mets/scorecard_graph.php?game=326&font=1[/FIMG]
8. Well, he wasn't taken out of the Syracuse game last night, so if I'm his manager, I'm telling him to keep on keeping on. He's friends with Baty, so I imagine (hope) he's not hoping for an injury. I suspect that, if there is no need caused by injury, and his continued performance nonetheless forces a callup, Zack Short could be the one on the hot seat.
9. The Mets try to bring both the funk and power as they look to lower the boom on Steeltown's finest in a matinee matchup. Luis Severino defends for the Mets against big man of steel Baily Falter, another in a long line of lefties the Mets have run up against lately. Falter has been compared to Sandy Koufax in style, with a big long stride, but lacks Koufax's velocity, relying on that long stride and a somewhat hidden release to make his 91 MPH fastball sneaky fast. We'll see.
10. We don't want him to pitch too much. Why? Well, we don't want him to throw more than 140 innings. Why? Well, he only threw 120 innings last year. Why? Because we didn't want him to pitch too much. Why? Well, it's about winning.
11. Only concern will be post-game reports on Baty. I don't envy Derek Shelton facing the media tonight.
12. Snuffy Smith on for the save. He should enter to "Narco" anyhow, and mess with everybody's heads.
13. Jorge doing his best Reed Garrett impersonation. Who is your ninth-inning guy?
14. Nimmo should've bunted it to Joe.
15. I'd've been tempted to pinch-hit Taylor there even if it meant burning the DH. But Narváez hung in there.
16. Classic McNeil. I don't care if he ever hits another homer again, as long he hits 'em where they ain't.
17. Joey Wendle on keyboards!!
18. And Blondie gets us in business here in the bottom of the seventh. Unfortunately, Jimmy Destri is out with hamstring tightness.
19. I cursed this game by posting a vid of the third-rate Bowie song that gives the thread it's name. This here is about atonement.
20. Jack Fisher looking good.
21. Probably a better thing that McNeil turned that double-play.
