Santana was the fringey dude signed in a crisis when Medlen and Beachy went down on the eve of the season, and he came out like gangbusters in April --- particularly against the Mets. Smashed back to earth in May and has been hit and miss since. Beatable. Bea. Tuh. Bull. I suspect he's gonna pull an Astacio and acknowledge he was pitching hurt all along after his arm blows up at the end of July.

Interesting that the police report has the players holding only Venezuelan IDs and naming them as "30-year-old Vincent Lupo Perez and 19-year-old Wuilmer Gabriel Benavente." One guy there is 10 years older than the Mets have him listed at and both are brandishing alternative names.

Well, the idea would certainly be to improve. Obviously, the better the guy and the younger the guy, the bigger the package. The market will change when they're done sweeping the Braves.

Well, I ain't advocating, but Nimmo won't be here this year or next. And Puello --- well, if you think he's for real, you might want to have a bird in the hand as well as one in the bushes. Get an extra ticket before the wheel stops spinning, so to speak. But the assumption going in was that the team wanted to address the situation this season.
