Pretty amazing that the game has been engineered so a team can hide a good hitter who is too compromised to play the field, but the Yankees can't hide Judge at DH and they can't hide him at first. He has over 7 WAR and they can't find a spot for him. Maybe they can really practice some alchemy and put Judge at first and Goldschmidt at third or in the outfield. Everybody out of position!

The guy is pitching in the ninth inning with a one-run lead, and the bases are loaded mostly of his own making ... and the guy changes his shoes! That's insane! Other sports may have more action, more speed, more violence, but no sport brings the drama like baseball. That's some David Mamet shit right there.

The thing about loading the bases is that it's the most effective method Diaz has of keeping runners from stealing.

A lot of adventures that inning — the drive down the right field line clearly the most heightened of adventures — but it kind of was maybe one of the strongest outings Rogers has had as a Met. One thing about Helsley is that he kind of has how sketchy Rogers has been. And a submariner up in the zone can be a seriously sketchy thing.
