  1. Ball 3 was strike 1 ... but still.
  2. Are all those tats on the arms of the Cincy 2nd baseman made from India ink?
  3. Ball four/Strike one turned that whole Votto AB around.
  4. Y'know, if we could just agree to stop turning GiDP grounders into rally-building events and also stop bitch-slapping balls into additiobal Runs Against, these games would much more easily winnable.
  5. I'd like to see the end of this game ... and I just might. I just don't know that it's going to be tonight.
  6. Jeff Lebowski was visible in the stands in numerous shots Sunday in Pittsburgh.

  8. Reached the halfway point in under two hours!!!!

It's something to do with Cuban solidarity. But not sure whether it's leaning towards supporting recent protests within Cuba or more anti-embargo which, at least from some quarters, seems to be running interference for the govt.

  11. Not that Eickhoff has been good or anything, but when your defense turns three GiDPs into a total of ZERO outs it makes it tough to suceed.

  13. So through two innings: -- the NYM defense has given the Cincy offense SIX extra outs plus an extra runner moved up (to home) -- and the NYM offense has given the Cincy defense two extra outs
  14. When did Luis Guillorme become the worst fielder in baseball?
  15. Any actor/actress from the 1950s I always just assumed that Ralph knew him/her. If nothing else I'd guess 'Yes' and be right more often than wrong. I remember John Travolta in the booth one day - I forget why but it might have been around 1985 that when the movie PERFECT came out which Travolta was in with Jamie Lee Curtis. So Curtis's name came up at one point leading Ralph to chime in with: 'This is a coincidence, you were in a movie with her and I used to date her mother'. I think JT was, at first, a bit shocked and then monumentally impressed, like: hmmm, I guess this guy must have been a big deal at some point', cuz I don't think he had any clue as to who Ralph was.
  16. The Reds don't pitch particularly well but they do hit.
  17. Phils won twice today (Sunday); resumption of a suspended game then the scheduled one. So they shave another half game off our lead but without the comeback it would have been 1.5, or nearly half the lead gone in just a couple of shitty hours. Just looking for silver linings as I go.
  18. The fan who threw a baseball at BOS OF Alex Verdugo from the stands has been banned from MLB parks (not quite sure how one enforces that sort of thing but whatever). Given that this was YSIII during a rivalry game I'm surprised the Yanx didn't respond by upgrading his seats.
  19. They should award the win to the manager that day ... but they never do. When GS Warriors coach Steve Kerr missed at least a half season a few years back, his replacement, Luke Walton, racked up a great record for several months and every one of those wins got credited to Kerr.

  21. I actually Just Now!! got through this one via delayed (and not knowing the outcome) viewing. After nearly throwing whatever was in my hand at the time through the TV set (and likely through the wall behind it) during bottom 1st, i was skipping bottoms of innings for a while for fear of seeing more 3rd graders playing some sport which vaguely resembled baseball. This had to be the most ridiculous game at the end of the most ridiculous series (double series really) in a very long time. btw, watching via half-inning and commercial skips still took around three hours
  22. So the Sawx got dicked Saturday night. After a hour-plus rain delay in which there wasn't actually any rain, the Yanx broke a 1-1 tie with two solo shots in the 6th during an active deluge ... and then the game gets called. There were also multiple elections on the Boston side (including old pal Kevin Plawecki) so I'm betting there was some serious griping going on before, during, and after.
  23. =G-Fafif post_id=71719 time=1626623251 user_id=55] DeGrom going on the IL.
  24. Reader's Digest version: Lugo & Diaz faced 13 hitters between them and wound up retiring four while leaving none on base because the last pitch each threw wound up on the wrong side of the OF wall for a combined 7 RBIs
  25. This is like the three worst losses of the year ... IN A ROW!!
