  1. I was 18/19 when it came out , remember liking it a lot , great tunes, I had that Matt Dillon hair back then , shit , I still have it. 4 stars
  2. Worst Oscars ever already, putting Kirk Douglas up there probably seemed cute in the production meeting but it was cruel...on us. Your one that won for best supporting actress probably will want to shoot herself when she she's her speech.

(Joe Hicks moves into the Top Twenty, and Joe Ginsburg advances to the number 2 slot.) I shook his hand once at a baseball card show in Atlantic City. It was somewhere around 1990. I told him my mom was a big fan of his when he played for the Dodgers, and he said, "Say hello to your mom for me." When I passed along the message, she got a big kick out of it. My sister later reported that she heard my mother muttering, "Duke Snider said hello to me!" I only chatted with him for a few minutes, but he seemed like a really nice guy. That's why these old players still matter, nice story. Rest in peace.

Three stars. You can see the tricks and the Williams-driven ups-and-downs coming a mile away, but they work (as do Goldblum and most of the supporting cast). Jaws it ain't, but it's an effective amusement park ride, still. I wanted to comment on this after some thought , it holds up better than Jaws IMHO , at the time Jaws was a sensation but on a viewing a few years back it was nearly laughable, the effects just don't hold up and the suspense wasn't the same , which is to be expected.
  5. Willie fucking Harris with a two run job to tie it up , sorry I thought it was 4-3, I guess not.
  6. Braves lead 4-3 and bring in what looks like John Rockers younger brother, throwing shapes coming in from the pen.

I also never saw any of the sequels (for the most part I HATE sequels) so it's not like those are having any after-the-fact negative effect on my vote You definitely do not want to see the4 sequels, rubbish.
  8. Are people voting now looking back or voting what they felt at the time?
  9. Goldblum is annoying in the every role I think , always plays that hyper active guy.....I enjoyed this if memory serves , Sam Neill and his staring saved it probably. I mistakenly watched it recently with Lorcan and well it was a bit scary for him, I need to remember he's three. The effects still looked good, it was a huge deal at the time wasn't it?
  10. Ceetar and Rubin in Duffy's parking lot in ten minutes, fight on.
  11. Anything can happen is right , maybe the Qutari Royal Family will buy the whole shebang, apparently they bid $1.5 billion for Manchester United, they could by out Wilpon for half that. Can't see them hitting Duffy's though.
  12. SNY are live right now in Duffy's......seriously(at least i think they are live)
  13. Batmag, I can put you down for two tickets? , get you out of the house while helping the Wilpon's, win win really.
  14. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: yeow There might be some fighting in the parking lot tonight, I've booked a Thin Lizzy cover band for the benefit, Fat Elizabeth.
  15. NY Times reports the Mets got a loan from MLB this past November for $20 million to offset cash flow problems.
  16. Still bitter, this about Bobby V http://www.murraychass.com/?p=3016
  17. Other Duffy's bar for the fights and the local pizzeria's parking lot for the fights and the pissing are what keep me interested.I was thrilled to hear that the Mets brought back Karim Garcia, Shane Spencer and Tony Tarasco as cultural ambassadors. One camera view intra squad games just don't do it.

  20. As for picking his spots to talk to reporters, he said, Probably 99% of the time I do it like this is because every day I come to the park and want to get focused on my start, and then random people come and waste my time talking every day. It takes eight minutes to get a real question out because theyre like buttering me up. Then they get to the question and its a stupid question. So its a waste of 10 minutes, and in that 10-minute time I dont get to do what I needed to do. That;s a great quote , Harper et al wouldn't know how to deal with him , which is why they dismissed him as a "wouldn't be able to playin NY" guy.
  21. I'm not saying it's big but he has enough room in his kitchen to practice his patented catch and throw with his servants
  22. Jetes went with road grey , no name on the mail box please , he's a yankee, thank God.
  23. Edgy DC wrote: Molly is so 2007 or something. He's probably about 19 monogamous relationships down the road.
  24. Widely enthusiastic about plucked eyebrows....his own.
