  3. An arthritic right knee at 22 isn't good obviously, I feel for the kid really.
  4. Frayed Knot wrote: btw, in case you hadn't heard ... THE YANKEES ARE PLAYING IN WRIGLEY THIS WEEKEND!!!! But, monumental as this event is, shouldn't this series be postponed until Jeter gets healthy? I mean it's not really a series worth having if he's not going to be there as the entire purpose of the visit will lose all sense of history and importance. God, I'm sick of it already , and there's another team I am fucking sick off , the Cubs can go shit themselves. Hearing Sterling call a ball headed for the ivy would be fun though.I've come to think of him as the only good thing about the yankees.
  5. Marty can go and fuck off .
  6. soupcan wrote: Big picture folks. 6-4 road trip. 2 of 3 from both Milwaukee and Atlanta in their parks. Woefully undermanned Mets team that does not give up. gotta agree, this team could be 15 games under and people would say it was expected, Collins and his coaches are doing great.
  7. Put it this way , I don't think Einhorn was cheering last night when the balk occurred. the balk occurred or happened?, how would you phrase that?
  8. A balk?, that was quite a shock to see blazing across the back of the Daily News.
  9. Interesting indeed, I think Einhorn is betting against the Wilpon's as apposed to rooting for the team to lose.
  10. damn McCann nearly had it..
  11. fucking kidding me?

  13. "Through the entire sale process, there has been and continues to be widespread misinformation and sometimes completely baseless and unfounded speculation about the terms of the potential agreement," the Mets said Wednesday in a statement. believe who you will, either way I think Einhorn is on the road to majority ownership.

  15. A 30 team league with relegation, teams play each other five times , season shortened to 150 games. This would require AAA to be aligned with the big league , bottom three get relegated with the top three AAA teams promoted. Some of the best excitement in this scenario could be relegation and the champion decided on the last day of games, yes our Mets sucked but look they can stay in the top flight if they beat the MFY's in the last game and in the process stopping the yankees from being champions. You think Citi Field would sell out for that game?
  16. Willets for Commissioner
  17. TransMonk wrote: Gwreck wrote: Eliminating the leagues is great but would require eliminating the DH in the American League (tough sell). I think it is more likely they would just use the DH for all teams (although, it's equally as tough a sell). yeah this, the players for one wouldn't want it eliminated right?, it's a high paying position and players like Ortiz have thrived there.
  18. Why not just scrap the NL and AL , have divisions based on East, Central and West? MLB East NY Mets NY Yankees Boston Baltimore Tampa Miami Toronto Nats Braves Phillies MLB Central Royals Indians White Sox Cubs St.Louis Twins Tigers Brewers Pirates Reds Astros Rangers MLB West Seattle Dodgers Angels Oakland San Fran Colorado Arizona San Diego Pirates could go to the East, Rangers to the Central or both Astros and Rangers to the West I should note that this is hardly an original thought.
  19. #yankees people will at least discuss kazmir, if they haven't already. Could use another lhp in pen It's silly but I wouldn't like to see him over there
  20. Yankees looking at Kazmir, need for a leftie out of the pen.
  21. Gee won't be back by the looks of that rain, that sucks for him but lets get the win.
  22. Gary "If anyone knows how to pitch in bad weather it's Mr. Gee"
  23. No no , with Jeter it's "Biblical".
  24. Sounds crazy but apparently it's been talked about , one scenario I heard or read was the Marlins going to the AL. I don't like it , they should go back to the balanced schedule if they are going to change things, one thing I don't like about the 15 team league is teams shooting for fifth place , like the EPL in a way where some teams only strive for a top five finish because that brings the spoils of Champion League soccer.
  25. It's almost , no , it's nearly , damn it, it's a fucking privilege to watch him.
