  5. The wild cards, naturally. Because I like chaos and anarchy.
  6. Johnny Callison's walk-off (did I say "walk-off? what is the world coming to?) in a Met helmet.
  7. I remember Neil Allen. Really I do.
  8. http://m.mlb.com/video/v8852885/mlb-network-remembers-bobby-valentine-in-disguise The Clemens bat incident was up in the Bronx. Shea was the first stadium to post distance markers beyond the outfields walls. I remember a 428' marker. Some of those markers may have been connected with Dave Kingman. Also, what about that incident when they blew up the center field wall with cannon fire?
  9. Jeez, he was one of seven barely recognizable Bill Gallo figures on the cover of the Mets '81 yearbook. That's practically Nobel Peace Prize cache. And what happened to Bob Gibson? And why the hell is everyone in a cloud? I don't get it.
  10. Cards tragedy with a Met connection: While a member of their organization, Cards minor leaguer and future Met Johnny Lewis's wife and mother of their two children, was killed in a car accident. She was 22. Here's another Cards tragedy with a Met connection: Cards trade perennial MVP candidate superstar who's also the greatest fielding first baseman in baseball history to the Mets for two barely memorable pitchers. You MIGHT not want to use that phrase connecting a bad trade with the passing of a guy's wife. Yes I do. As for the second bolded statement. Rick Ownbey yes, but Neil Allen? Guy was the Met closer for much of the early 1980s and featured heavily on official publications. Blah blah blah blah Ownbey blah blah Allen. Hey kid, just lemme have my fun, willya kid?

  14. Zvon wrote: Wowzers. I saw Straws sweet spot on the scoreboard(the dent in vid?). Pick a spot for Mo. Just under the "T" in "Born on Date" - more than halfway up the scoreboard. iUA6HV3jX4o
  15. Zvon wrote: Didn't Straw hit the scoreboard once? I don't recall the details. Anyone? Has any other Mets hit the scoreboard? I'm thinking Delgado might have. Straw hit it against the Astros, and Mo Vaughn hit it against the Braves. I was at both of those games -- front row behind the plate for Mo's shot.

  17. Here are your 10 most prolific unprolific Mets career HR hitters, ranked by # of AB's, in descending order. Thank you for playing. The next five: [fimg=252]http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6eaD2o4E1H8/UnxLPZQ5lwI/AAAAAAAAHvg/3veh9Jh4I30/s400/70tAmosOtis.png[/fimg][fimg=252]http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Te6unTgLh6M/UseZohlAyJI/AAAAAAAAKzE/6sw19jinO74/s400/64tAmadoSamuel.png[/fimg][fimg=252]http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-T0JNq9ZIGHw/UnxRDcznmkI/AAAAAAAAHzc/6Cjj79cvk84/s400/70tJimGosger.png[/fimg]
  18. They said I was once the fastest player in all of baseball, even faster than Lou Brock and Maury Wills. Why I was so fast, that The Man From Topps couldn't catch me in a Mets uniform, even though I played for the Amazin's. Who am I?
  19. DIFFICULTY RATING: DIFFICULT Here are your most prolific unprolific Mets career HR hitters, ranked by # of AB's, in descending order. Thank you for playing. I'm re-opening up this quiz because I left someone out of the top 10. I had my list of homerless Mets who might make the top 10, and when I culled those to make my top 10 list, I left this guy out. I remembered I left him out because, crazy Mets fan that I am, I was thinking about him just now in some other context, and realized that I left him out of this quiz. So Amos Otis is bumped out of the top 10 for this other guy. Here's a hint: He came to the Mets with a World Series ring from some other org.
  20. The other pathetically crappy hitting middle infielder -- Doug Flynn.

  23. Rey O. Or should I say Rey Zero?
