  1. Anybody else hear the Texas Rangers prefer their starters go deep in games? I think Smoltz just mentioned it for the millionth time.
  2. Stayed overnight once or twice on a NY-FLA jaunt in Wilson, North Carolina. Don't let the banner fool you. The place was lousy with Communists.
  3. Dustin Moseley, the personification of Jetership.
  4. Fman99 wrote: Let's not forget the volleyball that Tom Hanks spent three years fucking on a desert island. The late Don Wilson turning over in his grave...but throwing another no-hitter the whole time.
  5. Hack Wilson feeling unloved, too, and suddenly craving 191 drinks from the great beyond.
  6. Dude singing "GBA" is from the Vocal Majority. Gives "Chock Full o' Notes" from Newsradio and "Here Comes Treble" from The Office a run for their adorably named money. Of course those are pretend groups.
  7. Ernie Johnson was waiting all night to say "Cano has connected," wasn't he? Imagine Sterls! Not for the faint of heart: If you catch "30 for 30" House of Steinbrenner, you'll see what John Sterling looks like when he's screeching "THE MFYS WIN!" or words to that effect. It ain't pretty.
  8. Fman99 wrote: Robinson Cano doing his best A-Rod circa 2007 impression with the meaningless late solo HR. Fuck A-Rod. Just had to be said.

  10. If the course of this game changes, that would most obviously suck. And if it doesn't, how sure are you that this will be spun as a "blessing in disguise" for the MFYs?

  13. Mookie is unassailable in the top spot. Through five innings, C.J. is next. Who would be third?
  14. And I thought I couldn't stand Smoltz when he was a Brave.
  15. Overwhelming applause that Washington is pinch-hitting for Francoeur. Who let the Mets fans in?
  16. Kong76 wrote: Willets Point wrote: I was feeling the Rangers love right up until I saw W. in the stands. Oh shush, it's a fucking baseball game. Imagine how awkward it was to see Linda DeRoulet at the state of the union that one year.
  17. Rangers increase lead to 5-0. According to Ernie Johnson's suck-up logic from Girardi interview, MFYs couldn't be doing better.
  18. The whole thing reminds me of the stiff Maris/Mantle hot dog commercial in 61* wherein the sluggers keep cracking up (or breaking). Except that was meant to evoke 1961 and the unsophisticated advertising of its era, Sterling Cooper notwithstanding. This is 2010, and this couldn't be cheesier. Just like the chalupa, I suppose.
  19. Sutcliffe is generally paired with ex-Met 'PIX voice Dave O'Brien, though Chris Berman big-footed his way into the first two Brave-Giant games last week.
  20. Kong76 wrote: G-Fafif wrote: Jetership I think I'll start referring to him as His Jetership. I mean Derek, of course, not Stevie Jeets. Only His Jetership can be it, but anybody can display it (if Touched by a Jeter).
  21. Ernie Johnson, whose most appealing quality is he's not Chip Caray.
  22. Please choke on that chalupa, both of you.
  23. Michael Young, two hands, third out, always good to see.
  24. Willets Point wrote: A close call at the plate goes in the Yankees favor. Imagine that! That's Jeter's leadership right there. Or as Ian O'Connor would call it, Jetership.
  25. Don't be a hero, Jorge Cantu. Just be a Marlin. Darling doing the kind of second-guessing on the play at the plate that won him an Emmy. It must be brilliant.
