  3. I don't see a blueberry, but I see a globe, as in World Wide Web, and that takes me to my site.

Well if I press your blueberry I go to your website! Cool! Edit: hey! Ben Grimm too! That is cool, though I don't see the blueberry on whatever it is I'm looking at. I thought the question was part of the gag, which, if so, my answer was going to be "because Mike Vail was no Strawberry."

  8. I rarely say this about the Ty Kellys of the world when they are plucked in these kinds of transactions, but NOOOOO!!! OK, a little strong, but I grew really fond of this guy in the baseball sense. A hustler who got better as 2016 progressed. A 25th man who had the potential to become a 24th, maybe a 23rd man, depending on how you catalogue your excess relievers. Ty was the most recent link in the Hot Rod Kanehl-Teddy Martinez-Bob Bailor-Super Joe McEwing-Chris Woodward and whoever I'm leaving out chain. Could have been had he had a bit more time to forge his utility ways. I'll miss ya, Tyrus Raymond Kelly, A Genius In Spikes. Go kill the MFYs, or maybe Scranton.

Recker arrived before the 2015 pull-in, played one season past the 2015 pull-in. Byrd and Valdespin arrived after the 2012 pull-in, departed before the 2015 pull-in.
  11. Six Met home runs on the first homestand, causing slight ripples amid the all-time regular Citi Field Met roundtripper standings. • Lucas Duda extends his first-place lead over David Wright to eleven after belting No. 61. • Wilmer Flores, with HR No. 25, creeps to within two of Daniel Murphy for fifth place. • Yoenis Cespedes unknots a tie with Jose Reyes, his 20th HR putting him in seventh place. • Michael Conforto's twelfth gives him sole possession of the fourteenth slot after sharing it with Kirk Nieuwenhuis. • Jay Bruce's pair of circuit blasts elevated him into a four-way tie for 27th. Bruce has five, along with Justin Turner, Rod Barajas and Gary Sheffield. Your Top 10 after 654 regular-season games: 1. DUDA 61 2. WRIGHT 50 3. GRANDERSON 32 4. Davis 30 5. Murphy 27 6. FLORES 25 7. 12. The original Shea replacement was announced in April 1998, projected to open in 2002. SkyDome with an Ebbets exterior was its point of reference, with the grass sliding in and out like University of Phoenix Stadium would eventually feature. Eleven years later...something only vaguely like it appeared. Warmed over OP@CY overall, but nine seasons in, it's fine.

  14. The Sewald file: Sixth Met named Paul, following in the Paulprints of Siebert, Gibson, Byrd, Wilson and Lo Duca. Twenty-first Met born in the 1990s, ninth born in 1990. Paul came into this world on the same date Davey Johnson managed his last Met win, 5/26/1990. Four days later, Zack Wheeler emerged, though not on the active roster. Lifetime MLB ERA is 54.00. He'll probably lower it.

  19. Robert Gsellman takes on Marlins hitters. Adam Conley pitches to Mets hitters. In a sense, they will counter one another. Paul Sewald joins the Mets for the occasion.
  20. A new Met is on his way. Paul Sewald promoted, to slip into 51. Ty Kelly in DFA territory again.
  21. Jose just getting hot and Neil had two hits last night. Let As' rest his 'drubal tomorrow night, shift Reyes to short, Wilmer to third.
  22. It was said on last nights telecast that Wilmer would go up against each LHP ahead but not necessarily at 1B. I would guess some other infielder gets a blow tomorrow night.
  23. If I'd known baseball was this easy, I wouldn't have messed around with the other sport. He didn't say that, but feel free to believe he's thinking it.
