  1. I have nothing, but needed a thread to ask this lazy question: Are split (two ticket) doubleheaders also 7 innings per game or just the traditional (formerly real) doubleheaders?
  2. I know, and unfounded probably wasn't the best choice or words.
  3. Where did I mention Trump? By gubment I meant local city gubment. And again, while that fear is understandable, it's unfounded because citizenship is not an issue here and it is ignored by city hall and the (city, county and state) police.
  4. A Boy Named Seo wrote: There's at least one other category - minorities and immigrants who have a DEEP distrust of the federal government, especially under it's most recent steward. I have a couple people in my circle who are Mexican immigrants and they feel like the last prez did everything in his power to erase them from America so they're not rushing to get stuck with his emergency vaccine. I wish they'd get jabbed, but, shit, I kinda get it, too. My city has a large non-citizen Ecuadorian population. I've read on fb community pages that many are reluctant to get shot for fear of the gubment. The fears are generally unfounded because we are a sanctuary city but I get it. I also don't know what's required ID-wise at say a CVS versus a health-care provider when getting a shot. I had to give a social security number and photo ID. Kinda hard to do when you have neither so not sure how that all works here.
  5. Until tens of thousands start losing their finger nails and blood is pouring out of their ears and grow third and fourth eyebrows I'm in Camp-Vaccine-Is-Safe. Can't wait to hear Fauci's eyebrow explanation, that'll be a hoot.

  9. Call me naive, but I assumed all the players on all the teams got shots long ago.
  10. Kinda surprised this isn't one of those 12:10 shindigs but alas it is tonight... https://www.kcmets.com/CPF/CHC.png> 38-30 Hendricks (8-4, 4.46) https://www.kcmets.com/CPF/NYM.png> 35-25 Stroman (6-4, 2.33)
  11. I usually have big giant rabbit ears for such things and I haven't noticed that. I'll have to tweak my antennae going forward.
  12. Lotta fun, except for the un-fun mystery chapter.
  13. Where the hell has this Trevor May been hiding?

  15. It's 7:10 PM, time to get your Jake on!!
  16. Hopefully people won't get all willy nilly and think sneezing and coughing on people is kosher again too.
  17. Cubs rather tardy on posting a lineup, gonna stop checking... maybe Stock doesn't exist.
  18. Baseball Reference has announced that the Negro Leagues will be considered Major Leagues Well, it wasn't Baseball Reference who decided (considered) it. They just updated the stats in accordance with https://www.npr.org/2020/12/17/947440076/after-100-years-mlb-recognizes-negro-leagues-as-major-leaguethis, of course.
  19. Citi Field Selling Expired Skunky Beer, Details at Eleven!
  20. Yes, Soul! I didn't have it locally and didn't realize where they were located until reading a can a few days later. I wish I knew because I lived in Pleasantville for over 25 years and would have been more chatty with the vendor (it was at a craft fair)...
  21. Lefty Specialist wrote: I have this fear about tonight's game. DeGrom, competitor that he is, wills himself onto the mound despite injury. It goes poorly and he comes out of the game early with a more serious injury than they were originally talking about. I share these fears.
  22. =Ceetar post_id=68147 time=1623868992 user_id=102] ABV has nothing to do with hoppiness and it's more likely to be the opposite anyway.
  23. I like IPA, but have a ABV limit <6%. Upwards is too hoppy for me. I hope Ceetar agrees or else he'll be throwing a sneaker at me...
  24. Cholula is the Piels Light, or maybe Meisterbrau of hot sauces. Keystone? Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?
  25. Being a fan of lamb, I'm quite intrigued by concentrated lamb stock.
