The Brooklyn Cyclones left Western North Carolina on Sunday with their offensive stats looking a lot fatter. They plated 64 runs in the six-game set against the Asheville Tourists, with 43 scoring over the final three games. The series finale was a 12-1 triumph. Brooklyn scored 16, 15 and 12 runs in consecutive wins as it took the series 4-2.
Sunday's game was a pitchers' duel until the Cyclones scored three runs in the eighth, aided by sloppy Asheville defense, and six runs in the ninth, capped by Eddinson Paulino's grand slam, his first homer since last September.
Yonatan Henriquez opened the scoring Sunday with a solo homer in the fourth. He had four homers, 11 RBIs and 10 runs scored, while batting .360 (9-for-25), in the series.

Syracuse posted its second shutout in a row and third of the series, 2-0 over Worcester. Four pitchers combined on a two-hitter. D’Andre Smith’s two-run homer in the seventh accounted for the scoring.
Binghamton got home runs from Jefferson Rojas and Corey Collins as it dropped Altoona 7-3. Justin Hagenman went three innings in his second rehab start. Gabe Davis followed him and threw four strong innings for the win.
St. Lucie let a lead slip away in a 12-3 loss to Lakeland. The Mets were up 2-1 before the Flying Tigers scored six runs in the sixth. Bohan Adderley and Wyatt Vincent each singled in a run for St. Lucie.

Curry, Weisenburger Cap Huge Series For Syracuse Staff
Mets hurlers allowed 13 runs in the six games, and nine of them came in one contest. Xzavion Curry and Jack Weisenburger were the main contributors Sunday.
Curry went the first 4 2/3 innings, allowing both Worcester hits. Weisenburger came on with two runners aboard in the fifth and proceeded to retire all nine batters he faced, striking out one. Zach Franklin struck out the only batter he faced to end the eighth, and Dylan Ross worked the ninth for his fifth save.
Jose Ramos reached on an error by shortstop Isiah Kiner-Falefa to lead off the seventh. Smith followed by driving a Seth Martinez breaking ball 390 feet to left-center field for his second Syracuse homer. Smith is slashing .370/.452/.667 in 10 games at Triple-A.

Nick Morabito went 2-for-4 out of the leadoff spot. Smith, Émilien Pitre and Nick Lorusso each had a hit and a walk.

Power Plus Pitching A Winning Formula For Ponies
Rojas erased a first-inning deficit with a two-run homer in the bottom half. He lined a hanging breaking ball over the wall in left with Mitch Voit aboard. It was Rojas' fourth homer for Binghamton and his 19th of the year overall.

Three innings later, Collins delivered the decisive blow, a tiebreaking three-run blast deep to right field. Chris Suero doubled and John Bay walked ahead of him with two outs.

Collins has a .960 OPS in 28 games for Binghamton. Voit added insurance in the seventh with a two-run single.
Hagenman was in Binghamton to continue his rehab. He is coming back from a rib fracture that has kept him out all season. The right-hander gave up two runs (one earned) and four hits, with a walk and two strikeouts. He threw 38 strikes in 51 pitches,
Davis followed with a big effort in long relief. He allowed one hit and struck out seven. The only blemish was a sloppy fifth inning marked by a walk, a balk and a wild pitch. The run he allowed in the inning was unearned thanks to two passed balls by Suero.
Mark Vientos (hand fracture) continued his own rehab assignment Sunday, He played five innings at first base and went 0-for-3 with a strikeout from the leadoff spot.

Brooklyn Caps Scoring Spree With Huge Final Two Innings
The Cyclones led 3-1 after seven innings on the strength of Henriquez's homer, an Asheville error, Chase Meggers' RBI single, and strong starting pitching by Daviel Hurtado. Then came the closing kick.
John Spikerman led off the eighth with a double and moved to third on a flyout by Colin Houck. Antonio Jimenez reached on a fielder's choice, and Spikerman scored as Asheville's catcher dropped the throw to the plate. Jimenez was caught stealing, but Meggers and Paulino walked to get the line moving again, They scored when Sammy Stafura reached on an error.
John Smith III and Henriquez singled to start the ninth. Spikerman walked to load the bases with no outs. Houck singled to left field to score Smith and Henriquez. After a strikeout, Meggers walked to reload the bases. Paulino followed with his first Brooklyn home run, a shot to right,

St. Lucie Completes 1-5 Series With Middle-Inning Meltdown
The Mets allowed a home run. three walks and three stolen bases and committed two passed balls in the decisive sixth. The homer, off reliever Caden Wooster, was a three-run shot that put Lakeland up 7-2.
Wooster came on for starter Jose Lopez, who loaded the bases with a single and two walks before getting a strikeout prior to exiting. Yovanny Rodriguez's first passed ball of the inning tied the game 2-2. A two-run single followed to make it 4-2. After another Rodriguez passed ball, a walk and a flyout, Wooster served up the game-breaking home run.
St. Lucie took a 1-0 lead in the third on Adderley's RBI single. The hit brought in Vincent, who led off the inning with a double. After Lakeland tied the game 1-1 in the fourth, Vincent singled in Jake Ogden in the bottom half for a 2-1 lead.
Lopez was charged with four runs (three earned) over 5 1/3 innings. He allowed just two hits, struck out seven and walked three.
