Never reinstalled the Retrosheet DB unfortunately, but if someone has it should be relatively simple to run a query from the playlog to see if

(first_runner=second_runner-1 and second_runner=third_runner-1) or (first_runner=second_runner+1 and second_runner=third_runner+1)
