Bobby V was great.

Teufel was good too.

Would have liked more audience Q&A time on the execs and "Adam Rubin" panels. Evan Roberts of WFAN, who looks terrible, was IMO just performing schtick and not actually answering questions.

I maintain the organizers need to find a way to reduce admission prices (take a cut of the food and drinks or soemthing!) and would hope they could avoid scheduling it against "SABR Day."

I'll mention that though they didn't really make any money and didn't sell out, so I'm not sure the best way to do that. The signings/stars are clearly the draw and those are expensive.

That's not true, I/they DO know how to do that but it's not up to them. The Mets could 'assign'/give/front the money for an Alumni or a current player or something. Or they could front/comp the cost of using the Ceasars/Foxwoods club as the location.

Or hell, they could take notes and just let these guys/us run the damn fanfest and make it official.

I don't know the story with Evan, I meant to ask. He was a 'mystery' guest but i feel like his promotion would've sold some tickets? Probably something WOR related. I thought he had the most reasonable take on the stuff actually, but I don't particularly agree with Rubin or Cerrone's viewpoints on things.

The Uniwatch panel, as usual, ran long. ;-)

My day with Shamsky, Hodges and Seaver, though only one of them in person:

Thought it was a wonderful event and venue. Teufel was brimming with enthusiasm and didn't mind emphasizing what a defensive project Muffy was. Is koo-koo for Rosario. Valentine had me worried in that he blended games from 1997, 1999 and 2000 into one situation, but his memory is plenty clear when it comes to the hearts of his stories. Praised Fonzie, Oly, Reeder and Pratt to the highest of heavens.

Only element that was less than thrilling was the Mets sending over C-list sales personnel to give non-answers. Next year they can be represented by a brochure.

It was indeed a wonderful event and venue, with one caveat - for those of us with cars, the parking situation was horrendous. The street parking was limited, and there were many tales of people receiving tickets for not feeding the 2-hour meters quickly enough.

Parking woes aside, it was quite lovely!
