G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Tweets from the beats indicate Juan Uribe's giving a pretty good needle to David Wright for bolting the team to move on to his PSL rehab assignment. Damn, I thought, that's just what this team and this Captain have been dying for since, I don't know, Cliff Floyd made young David tote his luggage around: a veteran who plays a good game and talks a good game and loosens up a good player. As with everything dating back to tossing Syndergaard's lunch in the trash, it will make great backstory if the Mets win something this year...and not matter much if they don't. But given the dizzying heights of first place, it reads really well.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 oh yes, the '86 Mets story killed whole forests in coverage and story line afterwards. This season is certainly shaping up to have plenty of retrospective e-ink spilled if they make it deep.
