Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 When Sir Alex of Rodrigia joined the 3K hit club the other day he did so with the highest percentage of HRs among those 3,00+ hits: 22.3% now that his totals are 3,002 and 668.I was thinking of ways of trying to make the rest of this list into a quiz, but it's just too arcane as a lot of the pcts are fairly close to each other to the point of no practical distinction and so it becomes just a guessing game based on your knowledge of who has 3,000 hits (like Paul Waner & Eddie Collins) and who doesn't (Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Mickey Mantle) so I'll just spill it out instead.Mays (20.1%) and Aaron (20.0%) are the only other ones over 20%. Bringing up the rear, not surprisingly, are all the early 20th century guys ... and Rod Carew. So after the above three:4th - Rafael Palmiero - 18.8%5 - Eddie Murray = 15.5%6 - Dave Winfield - 15.0%7 - Cal Ripken - 13.5%8 - Al Kaline - 13.3%9 - Carl Yastrzemski - 13.2%10 - Stan Musial - 13.1%11 - George Brett - 10.1%12 - Rickey Henderson - 9.7%13 - Craig Biggio - 9.5%14 - Roberto Clemente - 8.0%15 - Robin Yount - 8.0%16 - Derek Jeter - 7.5%17 - Paul Molitor - 7.1%18 - Lou Brock - 4.9%19 - Tony Gwynn - 4.3%20 - Wade Boggs - 3.9%21 - Pete Rose - 3.8%22 - Paul Waner - 3.6%23 - Tris Speaker - 3.3%24 - Rod Carew - 3.0%25 - Honus Wagner - 3.0%26 - Cap Anson - 2.8%27 - Ty Cobb - 2.8%28 - Nap Lajoie - 2.5%29 - Eddie Collins - 1.4%
