Guest themetfairy Guests Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Aside from yesterday's memory of being pissed off that I was going to see Gee pitch instead of Thor, I simply remember Dillon as a nice guy who constantly signed autographs and who was moderately effective until his recent injury. I wish him well, but feel that the Mets got as much out of him as they were going to get.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 In general, very much the bulldog. His head and arm truly supplemented his arm.Specifically, the roll he got on from the Subway Series forward in 2013. As good a pitcher as they had as Harveysteria crested and the best pitcher they had once the sun set on the Knight for the year. Deserved the Opening Day start (and the win that got away) in 2014.Loved that he usually pitched spectacularly well against the Nationals and fairly splendidly against the Braves, give or take a Freddie Freeman (we'll leave out yesterday).Good guy. Savvy guy. For him to bitch out loud as he did when they phumphered around regarding what to do with him meant it must have really gotten to him.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I may have started remembering Dillon prematurely. We'll see whether he ultimately gets traded or demoted.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 We'll see indeed, but I understand the impulse to remember. He and his contract are certainly a better and more cost-effective asset than your typical DFA and he'll be unlikely to get through waivers, or to fail to gain some bites on the forced-trade market.I mean, they moved Nieuwenhuis.
