Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Haven't watched any ESPN, 'ceptin' at the pub the other night, but I've gotten highlights. No shortage of great tales. The Chicago team that has a bunch of MLB'ers led by LaTroy Hawkins sponsoring their parents so they could make the trip. The 4'8" Mexican kid hitting the snot out of the ball.Coachy coach from New England consoling his boo-hooing team.Mo'Ne Mo'Ne Mo'ne Davis.Hope Cooby has been able to catch some of the action.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Been watching a lot. I'm on Team Chicago all the way.Mo'Ne was a nice story, but maybe the SI cover jinx did her in...1-for-9 in the LLWS and her last start 2 innings, 3 runs, 6 hits plus an error at first base.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Also, in last night's Philly-Chicago game, a kid on Philly rocketed a ball off the center field fence...on a check swing! As a father whose son just turned 11 and watches a lot of youth baseball, some of the bats these kids have now are insane.
