Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 We sure are losin' players faster than we're gainin' 'em this offseason.Acosta: good strikeout pitcher who nonetheless seemingly had trouble bearing down. Retained a lot more faith from the Mets than he ever earned. Could be as good as any pitcher in the pen for weeks at a time. The same could be said of almost any of them, of course, but when he wasn't right, whoo boy, powderkeg.Manny Acosta, I raise my glass to you and the multiple hairstyles you brought to the cause:.The Close Crop:The Natural:The Octopus:Like Dillon Gee, he also sported the occasional furry merkin, God bless him. Why should goofball Caucasoids have all the fun with that?Manny, I hope you're the biggest thing to hit Japan since the Spice Girls reunion.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 In general, he was more icky than rad -
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Wanted to wear 46! Had to wait until they released Ollie Perez to get it.I thought he was pretty alright. Felt like the Mets trusted him less than worse guys they gave better opportunities to, but they were probably doing all of us a favor by not over-Acosting us.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Considering his big issues were untimely walks and gopher balls-- two things that hitter tendencies/management strategies tend to minimize in Japanball-- he could have hilariously good results in NPB, no?
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Manny Acosta will forever be a favorite for throwing me the game ball after the amazing night in Comerica Park two seasons ago. That being the night of two grand slams!
