Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Your bottom of the first: three batters reached; two batters caught stealing; one near pickoff.THAT's the way you make a contract run, Shop-Vac. (Also, two walks and 7 strikes in 17 pitches? Settle the hell down, Son #1.)
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Interesting 1st inning for Familia's 1st ever ML start- four-pitch walk- caught stealing- infield hit - caught stealing- four-pitch walk (Reyes - and he decides NOT to try to steal)- Ks Stanton
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Really Timmy?Ike, and with no outs?!?!
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Cedeno, bunt, Murphy, Wright. Three singles get the Mets a run!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Nice of Florida to give up most of their base-runners like they're doing.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Acosta gives half the lead up with a meatball to Mike Stanton. 2-1 Mets.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Nothing like a meaningless 2-1 game in October that's on pace to run about 3-1/2 hours.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Y'know, if we're going to just keep walking lead-off hitters, we could have just left Familia in.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Good thing they locked up Tuefel for 2013 today. Geez.Howie was goofing on a former Mets pitcher a few innings ago, saying he was the worst they ever had, but I didn;t catch who he was talking about. Was it Hank Webb (his kid was pitching at the time).
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 I heard him goofing on Derek Bell's pitching.Meanwhile the Fish gain the lead. Hard to win without throwing strikes. Bunt double play follows for Miami.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Bell makes sense. I was surprised Howie would be so blunt about a bad pitcher. What a disaster to have made that horrible call with Davis running, 0 outs. Fire Tim Teufel!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 Ike Davis against a sidearming righty is as good a number to put your chit on as we could hope for.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 Three and two, runner going. Just need a double. But no. LEEEEEE!!!!
