Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 (edited) /Rinse//Gargle///Spit////Kick Purple AssLet's do this.Or, at least, let's do this better than Jeremy Guthrie, who'll hit the DL instead of the mound today, thanks to a freak bicycle accident; the Rockies will throw Guillermo Moscoso up against the wall instead, to see if he sticks. Guest vtmet Guests Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 On the positive side, Guillermo Moscoso is a RHP & this team is decidedly stacked as a Lefty hitting lineup...on the negative side, he doesn't seem like he gives up a lot of walks or long balls...Is there a tally of our won/loss record based on RHP vs LHP starters?
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Stones haven't scraped shit off their shoes in 30 years but I am cahnfident Gee can..Well, kinda cahnfident.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 I'm willing to write yesterday off to a confluence of ephemeral factors: long plane trip, Coors Field, unrested bullpen, rookie starter, contagious brain farting on defense.I'm willing if they're willing.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Good teams win games after messes like yesterday..

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 This thread needs some baseball action.Mets up 2-1 on a two-run homer by Lucas Duda. Who is awesome. Duda.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Two-out rally, and an RBI double by Wright in the third puts them up 3-1.And like every time he drives a run home, David has set a new. Met. Record.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Lost my radio feed, so I'm really talking to myself here.Jim Duquette has a lot to offer, but he sounds a little like a less animated version of Lewin. Plus, and it may be me, he sounds a little neutered. Like a guy who got demoted in public.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Another two-out rally and another RBI hit by David Wright. Tie game and first and third.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Wright finally steals a base after getting caught on his first three attempts this season.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Two-run hit for Duda! Mets up 6-4!Go, baseball!

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 These two-out rallies are nice and all, but it would be a whole lot easier if they weren't starting their innings w/2 out and no one on.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Lost my radio feed, so I'm really talking to myself here.Started an hour-plus late, and have been catching up via DVR.Nobody took note of Josh's pasted ball during the Rockies rally? (Gary: "Kids... wear a cup." Keith: "If you're a catcher, and you don't? That's insane. [Audibly scoffs... multiple times]")
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Was Thole the injury, and is he OK?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Yep-- just your standard "got the wind knocked out of him" game break.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 A strong sixth by Gee. He's at 104 pitches. He should come out for the seventh. I'm guessing he won't.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Tejada and Murphy lead of the seventh with singles. Three hits each for Rube, Irish, and Dudley.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Duda both hitting today and hitting into bad luck at the same time.Robbed once and that last one was an at'em ball -- could have 3 more ribbies.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Great to see Pubes back out for the seventh.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Gee sharp in 6th & 7th - definitely striking a major chord.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 (edited) Hairston's Friday evening looks like a lightning strike in retrospect-- he's missed at least four pitches tonight that he should have tattooed.Ike, conversely, has laid off/fouled off the outside crap and whacked the stuffing out of the ball every time up tonight (ESPECIALLY the outs). I expect he'll find an Interstate exit early next week. Edited April 28, 2012 by Guest
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Can ya go against the pitch count just once?
