Hey, just tuned in to the pile-on, and it's a Sandy Show in the booth!

Next year's closer isn't currently in the organization, he sez. Interesting... and not necessarily in a good way.

yup.

October is 'Reyes month'

changes likely to Citi Field, although not decided, and if they are, they won't be subtle.

Murphy's a good hitter, a guy you really have to try to work into the lineup, and losing him was a big part of the Mets downturn this season.

Rotation will probably be substantially the same, mentioned growth for Niese and Gee, and that that was reasonable to expect. Acknowledged that the quantity of innings was very important, but they have to work on the qualitative.

also, "Closer is probably not in the organization, although he might be." Made it sound like he probably won't necessary seek a 'name' closer, even went so far as to mention a major league ready prospect type guy.

also mentioned that maybe they've moved pitchers (And other prospects) through the minors too slowly. cited roster issues and guys in PSL that could potentially be added to the major league roster.

Pelfrey drives in the fifth run with a two-out double and Wayne and Howie both gack on the call.

"They would let you finish your meal before coming up and getting an autograph."

Cheeps, what's Pelfrey doing making the cutoff?

As always, duty-bound to harm his own cause.

Well, then, back up the plate and chase down Pagan's throws after they go awry, not before.

Guys, tell me if it was a hit or not --- then tell me about Pujols' wrist.

Hit.
No injury.

Wow, two successful sac bunts in a row.
I think that makes it like two of our last 65

I'm now convinced that Collins:

A)... has (or is under the impression that he has) a sac-bunt quota he's got to meet before year's end, and is way behind pace

B)... Or has a MASSIVE side bet going with Tony LaRussa and Dusty Baker

The thing is, he wasn't all that bad with it until like the last six weeks.
Now he's morphed into Jerry by doing things like bunting into Tejada as well as with him.

If this were the Braves, they'd have walked a runner or two in by now.

Three walks, an accidental bunt single, and a sacrifice.

Fierce rally.

As the best, most courteous fans in baseball, these guys would no doubt wait until McClellan finished his meal before walking up to his table and booing the living shit out of him.

Holy hell, do these Cardinal games have a Trachselian ass-dragging quality to 'em.

It's what Tony LaRussa calls "baseball," and he tends to drag the other manager down with him. He's like a giant planet with an inescapable gravity field.

If they can put up with this brand of baseball, maybe they are the greatest fans.

Duda kinda fields those pop-ups like he's actively f*cking with Tejada/Turner/Satin, doesn't he?

Maybe that should be the rookie hazing thing next year-- everyone plays a half-inning at second in front of Duda.

Oh, and swing at those, David.

Berkman eats that hanger up like it was chicken-fried ham steak on challah French toast.

Some scrappy dude up now. I still can't tell Freese from Jay from Descalso, but for handedness.

The contemporary manager:
[list:1efu8l3m][*:1efu8l3m]Never Met a runner he wouldn't bunt over from first.[/*:m:1efu8l3m]
[*:1efu8l3m]Never Met a batter he wouldn't walk to fill that vacated base.[/*:m:1efu8l3m][/list:u:1efu8l3m]

Ugh, Mets down by one after all that overmanaging. Of course, Terry walks the next batter. Of course, he does.
