G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 On ESPN New York, Adam Rubin offers perfectly logical reasons this Opening Day will be Jose Reyes's last as a Met and I offer little more than hope that it won't.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 First you have to get through the hot button ad, featuring this trick question:The Mets' sparkplug is entering his walk year. Will he stay, or will he go? YesNoHad Rubin mentioned that your work was in the article instead of a snarky comment about Reyes leaving, maybe I would've clicked on it sooner.

I like your argument better. I'm going to mentally assign you the "Pro" part of the Pro vs. Con.I even figured out the trick poll, but not reading the secondary text there.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 The heck with Rubin! How did you guys miss the convincing and stellar prose of the other guy? Nice job, Greg!
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Greg is better looking than Adam so I'll support his point of view.
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 I think he'll re-sign. While everybody is saying he's odds-on to go to the Phillies, I think they'll opt for a cheaper solution. Also, Reyes is openly mocked in the Philly clubhouse (e.g. poster of Reyes stuck on Victorino's locker when he was showboating). Reyes will also have to deal with the ire of the Philly faithful, something I'm sure he'll want to avoid if possible. IMO, the Giants are a much more likely destination. As for Rubin's OBP argument, seriously....

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Sabean's still running SF, no? Especially when feeling empowered by a WS trophy, he's quite squeezable for nine figures.I do hope that if he leaves, that SF's the landing place. It's west coast, so we don't have to think about him too often, and, despite the title/antics, they're still semi-likable.
