Guest attgig Guests Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 for everyone who thinks everyone is out to get us... at least we get this as #1http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=caple/110119_MLB_logos&sportCat=mlb1. MetsI'm no Mets fan, but I have always loved this logo: the distinctive dark skyline, the white bridge symbolizing the five boroughs, the classic Mets script, the terrific color scheme of orange and blue. My only suggestion: Mr. Met should have it tattooed around his whole head.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 It might be the best logo in pro sports, beautifully representing the city and baseball. It's not a bad list, though he ranks the ugly MFY logo about 25 spots higher than it deserves.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Not that Caple's aesthetic taste (like his consistently enjoyable columns) is unappreciated here, but something about the "I'm no Mets fan" was a little offputting."I'm no child molester, but nothing gets me going at a sporting event like that Gary Glitter song!" Jim, baby, nothing wrong with being a Mets fan.Oh, and it is the greatest logo in baseball. I've never bothered to check the other 29 but have always known it.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I agree entirely with his choice for #30. Seriously, Cleveland - grow up already.
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Mets far and away the best, Tigers and Cardinals should be higher, he's right about Cleveland.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Goes for the blue skyline and not the black one. A great and good call.I can't tell if he's got the NY insignia on the tower on the left (Williamsburg Bank), but he should.
