Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Not really much exciting going on here (there rarely is out there ... I think the smaller division creates fewer possibilities) with Texas holding a 7.5 game lead and it's not even over LAA. It's Oakland in 2nd while the below .500 Angels sit in 3rd a full 10 games back.About the only fun part is that the Rangers host the Yanx for three starting tonight. It's obviously a possible 1st or 2nd round playoff match-up and while the Rangers might have an even worse record than the Twins for shitting their pants in October whenever they see pinstriped pajamas this is a different Texas team than those mid/late-'90s ones and I don't believe that sort of stuff has any carry-over even though I'm sure that will be the dominant theme if/when these two do face off.Josh Hamilton is 'day to day' after smashing into the wall last week, but Cliff Lee is expected to make his first start in over two weeks (back problems) on Sunday.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2010 Author Posted September 25, 2010 Texas cliches its first AL West title since 1999.Must be exciting down there and I can just see the sports headlines tomorrow. Actually I don't know exactly what the headline will be but I'm sure it'll have something to do with the Cowboys. The Rangers news will be on page C14
