Not that some of these guys haven't come a long way toward establishing themselves, but it's worth nothing that there's one guy from opening day in the Mets lineup.

Pagan, cf
Duda, lf
Carter, rf
Wright, 3b
Davis, 1b
Arias, 2b
Thole, c
Tejada, ss
Dick-KAY, p

Fukudome, rf
Castro, ss
Byrd, cf
Ramirez, 3b
Nady, 1b
Soto, c
Soriano, lf
DeWitt, 2b
Wells, p

Pagan only because Manuel's an idiot though. But yeah, the other six weren't even on the roster.

[crossout:335hpgo9]It's actually two though, Tejada _was_ in the opening day lineup.[/crossout:335hpgo9]
I've already forgotten Cora existed..I realize I'm wrong..

Tejada was in the opening day lineup! Well, I'll be!

That was strategically sound!

Pagan singles and Wells wants no part of Dudadudadoo, coming nowhere near the plate with his four pitches.

Who is managing these guys?

Intentional, or slip?

Cubbies are rallying. One run in and two on with two out.

And a three-run homer by Soriano and our first-inning cusion is kaput!

Go figure-- Dickey's ruining my Dickey Day.

I would've bet on Tejada or, say, Hurricane Ike.

Come on, Duda. Show your merits.

Two-out mini-rally there ties it-- give the devil his, Duda.

Hey, how about that?

Jerry pulls Carter for Beltran. Can't let that lefty-lefty thing happen.

They may not hit many home runs, but there's a LOT of warning-track power on this team. And that's something, right?

Bear Cubs looking to answer with two on, no out and a 2-0 count.

So we should move the fences in 15 feet? :)

Fans Soto. But here comes Soriano.

Soriano gone. Can't walk DeWitt because the pticher is at a pinch-hittable stage of the game.

And DeWitt goes yard.

My word. 7-4.

Wright clears the warning track, there. 7-5.

Kaboom Luis Hernandez??

Posted

Club Hessman has a new member! Luis Hernandez with One Met Homer. He makes up for the evacuation of Josh Thole the other day. Sixty-nine Mets have homered once and only once as Mets.

I guess it's Club Hernandez now, technically, but I prefer Club Hessman. Believe me, Mike Hessman prefers being known for one home run as opposed to a thousand strikeouts.

It can happen!

Duda, meanwhile, gets his first taste of a big-league lefty and looks at two benders at the knees before chasing a third one off the plate. Executed like a pro, Sean Marshall.

Anything happen to Acosta, getting pulled with two outs and none on after Duda does the dirty work for him?
