This year's Tangotiger fan survey/scouting report is here. Weigh in on individual Met players' defense and make some data points, jerky.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Fucks sake, not for nothing but I scored Reyes a 5 on all .Wright not a one.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I've done it in the past but not this year. The thing is that it's hard to distinguish ability from consistency. There's nothing a shortstop can do that Jose Reyes hasn't done and done well. But thre's little a shortstop can do that he's mastered. And so he's not a superior shortstop, but an average-to-good one. But I'm not sure how to reflect that in the ratings.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I did. Blanco, Reyes and Pagan got the best marks, with Ike, Wright, Francoeur, Barajas, Bay and Tejada scoring decently, too.As much as I'm generally for deliberation, I find that this works best as sort of a read-and-react exercise-- a defense-focused "blink" drill, if you will.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I had Reyes and Pagan tops in my list. Scoring Beltran made me realize how far in my mind he has fallen, his physical gifts are not there right now.
