It begins. As per Adam Rubin, these guys are among those that have tickets to PSL:

Ike Davis
Jenrry Mejia
Carlos Muniz
Eric Niesen
Kirk Neuwenhuis
Francisco Pena
Ruben Tejada

Also, the reanimated bones of Joibert Cabrera. (Presumably for company.)

Hi, I'm Reese Havens!

And I'm Brad Holt!

And we're co-starring in the upcoming Tri-Star motion picture... Conspicuously Absent!

Holt fell off the hot list pretty quickly. I read somewhere that he's in the org's doghouse for refusing an instructional league assignment.

The other guy I thought we'd see was Roy Merritt, the lefty sidearmer. He was in camp last year, and he specialized in scaling fences in a single bound.

Merrit looks like he has nasty stuff in that vid..........I guess if you're going to be umping fences like that he better be good.

What does Jesus Feliciano have to do to get a invitation?[/quote:2sywft9l]

Be a 37-year-old never-was?

Other invitees:

IF Luis Hernandez
LHP Bobby Livingston
LHP Travis Blackley[/quote:220zyaci]

I remember Blackley's name, a lefthanded Aussie who was considered an up and coming prospect in the Seattle system about 5 years ago.
Hasn't panned out since and spent the last two seasons in AAA both with the Phils and D'Backs after brief cups-o-coffee w/the Mariners & Giants.
Not so good numbers in AAA Reno last year but the PCL (and I presume Reno in particular) are usually tough places for hurlers.
Just turned 27.

Somebody needs to have a baby.

Feliciano had already been extended an invitation when he signed his contract.

Being a "never-was" doesn't appear to be a negative this year for an invite. Feliciano is 30, hit .311 last year, and was the Buffalo Player of the Year (admittedly, there wasn't a lot of competition). At least give the guy a quick look to show the rest of the minor leaguers that the Mets will notice if you do well. What's the harm? It'll take an at bat in the Michigan game away from someone else?
