Date rape, brutality and a screenwriter's florid take on violent bipolar disorder played for sadistic laughs? Points for daring, for full commitment to the premise (Essentially? Funny "Taxi Driver," or seriously nasty "Dumb and Dumber") and for moments of surprising funny. But... damn.

I liked the nastiness/affection of "Foot-Fist Way" and I dug the Southern Gothic flavor of "Eastbound and Down," but I'm starting to think Jody Hill just plain hates people.
