HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 They go bottom 9 in Motown tied at 1. Twinkies squander a leadoff double by Casilla in the 9th, and bunt into a double play to end the inning (thinking it must have been a failed squeeze).

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I kind of want the Tigers here for wearing better unis, and because their beleaguered city deserves a break, and because they seem to do better vs the MFYs, but I want the Twins to make it a race first and don't hate them expressly and wouldn't think it at all bad for their guy to get more attention as MVP vs. the misguided calls for Jeets.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 Orlando Cabrera ("Winning player"--Mainstream Media) singles in the go-ahead run after a Span single and two wild pitches. Still batting, top 10th.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Rooting for the Tigers , Twins never beat the MFY's
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Nathan in Detroit on a mission to save the Twins' souls (see what I did there?) gives up a leadoff HR to Granderson in bottom 10.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Twins win 3-2. Tiger's lead down to 1 game.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 Ron Gardenhire certainly belongs in "Manager of the Decade" conversations.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I'd prefer the Tigers essentially for reasons stated by others, but I hope the HomerDome patrons Sunday don't have their hearts broken on the final day the way fans at other ballparks shutting down in pennant race circumstances have. Not thinking of any team, ballpark or set of fans in particular. Just generally speaking.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Gardenhire called for 4 sac bunts in the first game. Actually maybe more since those were only the ones that were successful. One of the ones that wasn't was his squeeze play into a DP in the 9th inning (bunt was popped up).Tigers called for at least one too. I thought this was America League ball?!?
