Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Tied at 4 in Atlanta in the 10thAlso, Marlins are leading Nationals but they're already in their 2nd rain delay so who knows.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2009 Author Posted June 30, 2009 Braves won btw - on a one-out single in the 10thOf course that just means that they're gaining on us.Marlins leading the Nats in the 7th - but it was/is rain-delayed in the middle of an inning (and the inning the Fish took the lead too) so I think that means they have to continue it at a later time if they can't finish it tonight. Now if the rains had come 10 minutes earlier the Nats might have won.

(In short, the bottom of the inning becomes the de facto ninth inning.)I think the Marlins game may be official if they don't continue. From the Department of Holy F*&%*#g S&^t: Baltimore just made up a NINE-run seventh-inning deficit against the cream of the Boston pen (Delcarmen, Okajima, Saito, and Pap Smear) to violently cough up Smoltz' first Boston win. 11-10 Os in the 9th.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2009 Author Posted June 30, 2009 Yup! Baltimore puts up 5 in the 7th and 5 more in the 8th to make up the largest come-from-behind in club history.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2009 Author Posted July 1, 2009 Continuing with the July 1st O-o-T-S:- Marlins beat the Nats ... again. It was tied late but the Nats pen coughed up some late runs ... again.- And the BoSox playing the 'payback's a bitch' card, getting 4 in the 9th (the last 2 w/2 outs) to send things into extras
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2009 Author Posted July 1, 2009 Philly got smacked around (and almost no-hit) by Jair Jurrgens and the Braves - 11-1A 4-team log jam in the NLEastOdd day in that our game was only one of three separate 1-0 finals today - and a fourth is in progress in the 8th inning
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2009 Author Posted July 2, 2009 Braves tack up 3 in the 8th (inc a 2R PH HR by G Anderson) to take a 5-2 lead and leaves them just one inning short of completing a sweep. It'll also make it 17 losses by the Phils in their last 24 games if this one holds up and cause a 4-team pile-up in the NL East: 2 games separating 1st place & 4th.Oh, and the Mariners smacked CC around and lead 6-4 in the 8th.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Waiting for the last out to be recorded in the MFY game. Two-run homer by Branyan in the top of the inning gave the M's an 8-4 lead.
