Guest attgig Guests Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Please let him suck even more. PLEASE let him suck more...For some reason, I just have a horrible feeling that he's going to do well for em...
Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Yanks must be hoping he bounces back from his 2008 form (.218/.315/.381) and regains his 2007 form (.205/.295/.399).
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Steve Balboni must not have been available.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I wonder if Matsui is done for the season , really I don't wonder that as I couldn't give a fuck if he's out for the season or not.Reading here that Sexon has a .344 average versus lefties.
Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 ="metirish"]Reading here that Sexon has a .344 average versus lefties. This year he's trashed lefties. Two years ago, he was actually much better against righties. For his career, he's slightly better vs. LHP, but he's really not much of a platoon candidate.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 He does hit lefties well, and unlike other players the Yankees use at first base he can actually field the position. With Matsui likely done, he's a cheap upgrade over their other options for DH and 1B, at least against a lefty. But I'll be shocked (not to mention peeved) if this turns out to be a major benefit to the Yankees.
