Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I... drink... your... MILKSHAKE!!!Daniel Day-Lewis wins Best Actor Oscar for his incredible performance in this film.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Saw this Saturday night.Excellent movie, Day-Lewis absolutely earned his Oscar. The guy is amazing. For a 2 & 1/2 hour movie there is maybe one or two scenes that drag. But that's a minor complaint. To watch this character evolve from a driven, ruthless intelliegent businessman into what he does eventually become is riveting. The acting is great, the cinematography is great. Just a top-notch movie. Go see it.Just make sure the theatre you see it in has comfortable seats.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Yeah, so we saw this last night. Ambitious and really fun to watch, not sure the "story" had to go the way it did, though I understand how Anderson was trying to get us to despair along with him at the big scary soulcrushing American concepts of capitalism and evangelism. I liked this a lot better than his POS, look-at-me-I'm-such-an-artist "Magnolia."
Guest sharpie Guests Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 I liked this a whole lot. DDL was great -- the movie looked great, I loved the score. I woulda voted for this for Best Picture of 2007.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Prolly the 2 most celebrated films of 07, if not the best, and neither thread has a proper poll. Please, won't you think of the children.
