Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Just saw that Barry Bonds posted on his Web site that the Giants told him they don't want him back next year. What do you think, Texas -- if anyone?
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Whoever wrote that for him did a great job. I was actually touched until I remembered it was Barry Bonds.Sixty-five hits to 3000...probably more of a motivator than the ring. Why would he stick around otherwise? What does he need it for?

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Be interesting to see how willing Barry is to take a BIG paycut. The Giants had no other bidders to compete with this past year and still gave him some $16mil. With that sugar daddy now out of the picture and the lure of the HR record acting as a value-added incentive gone as well he might have to get "insulted" with an offer 1/3 the size of what he's been used to. Oakland is the first choice mentioned by a lot of people but they already have a power-hitting, walk-getting, no-gloving, machine; his name is Jack Cust and he'll barely cost the cost-conscious A's minimum wage.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 He might get another AL team interested --- central or east. Thing will pick up in the offseason.Or he can return to where he started and join A-Rod in Pittsburgh.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 I'm hoping the Bucs sign A-Rod and go with him and a roster of rookies.
