Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Philip Humber had a 10 K, 1 BB, No-hit game going against the Iowa Cubs for 8 innings last night. He was pulled after giving up a 1-out single in the 9th ... at which point Ambiorix Burgos came in and allowed not only that runner to score but 2 more as well tying the game at 3.The Zephyrs went on to lose in the 10th.

smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I suppose it's at least encouraging that Burgos is off the DL. I think it's in the Mets' best interest to have somebody replace at least Mota before Sept. 1, and Smith and Burgos are viable options (Smith more so if he's healthy.) Does anybody know anything about Willie Collazo? He's a left with a 2.69 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP in 90 IP, mostly in relief. As for Humber, assuming the Baseball America stats have been updated, he's still got a worse ERA than Pelfrey (not that either has distinguished himself). It's certainly an encouraging sign, but it will take more than one good start to convince me he's turned the corner.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 The Dodgers are pretty close to releasing Roberto Hernandez, or at leats the fans want them to.
