Jose gets the vote from Stark. I say Wright.

I'd vote Reyes. I was in Minnesota this weekend for a wedding and everyone who I talked baseball with mentioned Reyes. Curiously, Wright's name never got mentioned (one ChiSox fan favorably cited Jose Valentin who he once met and said he was a really nice guy).

Reyes. Though we ourselves haven't had too many Wrights, I don't think they're as rare a subspecies of ballplayer as the Reyeses are. Jose's front and center for this franchise on the field, though David would win in a voice vote most nights at Shea.

Wright and Reyes. You can't separate the two in terms of what they have meant to this ballclub. They both represent the future of this team, where this team is going. So you've gotta go with both.

Jose whupped DW 2-to-1 in a poll earlier this year (linky below). I was thinking of re-running it now that Wright's out of the weeds and Jose's a bit cooler.

Reyes gets my vote. It's tough not to like Wright, but he's got a bit too much Steve Garvey in him.

I'm just not comfortable with definitions that elevate one guy to a status that he is completely and the others are not at all. I mean, it's marketing.
