G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Wine Spectator captured Tom Terrific in his vineyard (and The Southpaw shares it):http://108mag.typepad.com/the_southpaw/2007/07/tom-seaver-doub.htmlHe seems happy. The Suzyn Waldman-voiced tribute is also there.
Guest cooby Guests Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 I always think of Tom as the Miracle Gro guy
Guest Iubitul Guests Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 G - that was a nice find. Thanks for the link to the blog, too - there's a lot of good reading there.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 He's got some details wrong, I think.I haven't heard the trade referred to as "Grant's Massacre," but rather the three trades that night recalled as "The Midnight Massacre." He'd remember better than I would, but the lone Google hit I get on "Grant's Massacre" is for a story titled "Federal Judge Grants Massacre Claim."Baseball-reference.com tells me Seaver made three All-Star Teams as a Red, playing in two, rather than the one reported by the Southpaw.
