Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 D-Dad and I are going to see this tonight. I have a feeling that there will be a lot of sentiment to give Peter O'Toole the Best Actor Academy Award (he turned down and honorary Oscar a few years back because he still wanted to win one for his acting), and I want to see just how much of a contender he is.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 This was a good film, although not a great one. But the acting is strong, and I think that O'Toole has a very solid shot at that elusive Oscar. It's talky, not as light as the trailer will lead you to believe, and at times feels a little voyeuristic. It won't suffer from the small screen if you wait. But my suspicion is that most of you will give it a miss unless you're specifically watching it for O'Toole.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Saw it this weekend on video. Pretty good script. O'Toole and the loutish girl he is infatuated with were both good.
